pulli23
Well I got a bit of surplus on money.. And I don't have any idea what to spend it on.. I've got 30M cash atm: However I've also 7.5M at miscellania, and more than enough supplies than I'll ever need (got like all basic fight gear, 100k unfinished broad bolts, 10k diamond bolts, all runes at 5k+, 2k coal, 3k yews 1k magic logs - 3k brews and 1k super restores). So supplies I really don't need to waste my money on the next few months/years.. But what shall I spent my money on? - I don't care at all for a skill like firemaking, cooking or fletching: I will only train a skill if it gives me some advantage in the end!) There are a few options I'm considering: -Buy dragonfire shield: problem is, if I ever get dragon tasks I always range them, so is a dragonfireshield actually usefull for non-dragon tasks above a rune defender? -Buy a bandos godsword: 90% of the time I'm fighting I'm doing slayer though: and I heard a whip+defender is better for general slaying? (it's special seems quite useless for most slayer tasks where the enemies defense doesn't matter) -collect more money and buy a SGS again, if it's only for the special I don't really consider 60M it worth. -Buy robin/archer boots/infinity/dark bow (I'm never maging: however I do range dragons quite often. lately been ranging more than actual meleeing) -Train a USEFULL skill: prayer - I'll be training it to 70 anyways: is the extra few levels I get worth the money after 70 (and worth more than buying some high end armor?) -Train summoning (bursting): Don't particularly care about summoning, got enough charms for 68 already: so would 30M get me to 88? -train construction: Would 30m get my level high enough (from level 50) for my own gilded altar + portal room? Don't care about anything before that so I won't train it unless it's enough for that already! -"invest" it: what to invest in? I don't feel like watching the ge every day and worrying about wether a price would fall/rise: so if I'm going to invest I would only do it if I know for sure (at least 99% sure) that a price would considerably rise! - And I would like to invest for "1 or more years", don't like that speculating for 1-2 days.. -something else? So: what would you do? First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. ultimatballr
There are a few options I'm considering: -Buy dragonfire shield: problem is, if I ever get dragon tasks I always range them, so is a dragonfireshield actually usefull for non-dragon tasks above a rune defender? Defender is better on all tasks, except the obvious dragon ones. The defence bonus is not necessary at all. Right now the DFS is pretty much just a "status" symbol to show off your cash. -Buy a bandos godsword: 90% of the time I'm fighting I'm doing slayer though: and I heard a whip+defender is better for general slaying? (it's special seems quite useless for most slayer tasks where the enemies defense doesn't matter) Whip/Scimmy + defender are really all you need. Again a BGS, or any other GS for that matter, are pretty much "status" symbols to show off your cash. SGS special is effective but as you said yourself, for you it't not worth the 60m. -collect more money and buy a SGS again, if it's only for the special I don't really consider 60M it worth. See Above -Buy robin/archer boots/infinity/dark bow (I'm never maging: however I do range dragons quite often. lately been ranging more than actual meleeing) I enjoy a good ranging just as much as the next guy, if not more, but Range set I will never buy. A Sara Coif and snakeskin boots give me all the range bonus I will ever need. Personally I don't even use anything BUT Void for ranging now. I see no use, unless mage defence is needed where I never need mage defence. A ranger set is pretty much a "status" symbol to show off your cash. -Train a USEFULL skill: prayer - I'll be training it to 70 anyways: is the extra few levels I get worth the money after 70 (and worth more than buying some high end armor?) Personally, when I saw a slide in the D bone prices I pounced on it and dipped into my phat fund. I burnt 19m on getting 85 prayer and I love every second of it. As soon as I see the D bone prices drop below 2k again I will, again as in the past, pounce on the opportunity and get 90+ if not 99 prayer. -Train summoning (bursting): Don't particularly care about summoning, got enough charms for 68 already: so would 30M get me to 88? According to Kent's summoning guide, 70-75m will get you 99 summoning if you use slayer or waterfiends for charms, so 30m I would believe can net you 88 if not close to 88 summoning. Dependent on how you get the charms. Bursting costs a whopping 200m+ for 99. -train construction: Would 30m get my level high enough (from level 50) for my own gilded altar + portal room? Don't care about anything before that so I won't train it unless it's enough for that already! I am not 100% sure on the numbers for Construction, but I can say that in my eyes 30m for 75 or so con is very believable. It seems completely realistic to believe that you'd actually have a surplus of money afterward. As far as investing goes, I am by no means a merchant/investor, at least not after the release of G.E... You could try, however, to invest in a santa and resell a little bit before Christmas when everyone tries to buy them up to sell on Christmas because they believe the price will [bleep]e dramatically. Let me tell you, it didn't last year and I laughed at a lot of my friends. I wouldn't go the investing rout personally, unless you try simple things like buying airs at min price and reselling at max price, which would really only get you so much in the large amount of time it takes to buy and resell. -something else? Myself personally I am looking to own a piece of RS past. By that I mean, yes, a party hat. Although I go into talk about how certain items are "status" symbols and are not really worth the money. I am very ambiguous on owning a phat. It is something that I look forward to every time I log on, but again I am a bit different minded than most as most seem to thing that paper hat is useless... But if I were you I would just keep the cash pile, and continue on with your slayings. That is what I do and I have 57m just laying around collecting dust. Maybe I should get some into MTK to make some extra money. That actually sounds like a good idea, lol, thanks for the idea. But yea you never know when that cashpile will come in handy so I just let it sit and do slayer. So: what would you do? Read above :P Very long winded, hope I was helpful in any case if not most. Apparently, my signature was to big.
D Jay99
what would I do? Id work at 88 summoning Lol that's worse than a +1. I'd get all skills 70+, just for the lulz. After that, train summoning. Would probably be close with 30m if you do waterfiends. Also, 50-70 con is about 4.5m, and with ~2.5m you have a great house + altar. Just use the crystal saw + tea to get 75. Do this before you level prayer.
Fools_Taco
You have eliminated everything most people spend their cash on. If you already have everything you want/need and the cash is just there anyway why not blow it all on a skill. My vote is prayer.
pulli23
You have eliminated everything most people spend their cash on. If you already have everything you want/need and the cash is just there anyway why not blow it all on a skill. My vote is prayer. Cause what's the point of spending it on a skill? I get 99 and then what? What benefit would I get from a skill? I don't like "bragging"/looking good at all: and the skillcape will always be worse than my fight cape. Also I don't like doing something over and over (and over again): grinding is nothing for me. (However I do like doing things for like 5 hours just to see if it's a better training method, so I'll always be the first one there when a new update happens). Also I really like minigames: however if it isn't rewarding you won't see me doing it! (other than for testing if it really isn't rewarding). So getting a 99 in such a skill wouldn't be only a waste of money, but also a waste of time! I rather just drop my money in that case! But aren't there things like "lumberjack" that still give some small bonus? First they came to fishingand I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing Then they came to the yewsand I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews Then they came for the oresand I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores Then they came for meand there was no one left to speak out for me. Bauke
I'd keep the money. You don't know what to spend it on, and that's fine. Just carry on playing so that when you DO feel the need to buy something, you will at least have the cash for it. killerbeer0
Well lucky you... My personal choice would be to chin to 99 range. Or I'd go a bit cheaper and buy Armadyl chest and skirt, robin, ranger boots, and crystal bow. Then get 99 ranged with bronze knives. (like 10ish mil to 99) OH S***! He/she/it is back! Inuashakent
I'd just spend it when you need to buy something. Stats are unimportant? There the whole essence of Runescape.
