There are a few threads already on this... The only reason to get a godsword is to kill gwd bosses, if you can do that then you would have the cash to not have to pick between the two. Short answer is if you dont have oodles of money forget about godswords they are junk.

 

 

 

godsword=lame don't do it. Get the shield, train some slayer, be a pro.

If you want to train melee stats: i recommend dfs. It gives great protection and also+7 strength bonus.

 

 

 

It's worth it.

 

 

 

But...if you like doing bandos+zamorak boss: i recommend a bgs.

 

It's slower for slayer/power training, by a good amount too. 19 slash vs 2 str. Plus, the defence... the use for it is quite miniscule now.

Agreed, if you are asking it shows that you really don't *need* either. I personally see no use whatsoever in a DFS except at Sara, but I'd suggest that you invest that money towards the level to use ponies. If you you're training slayer, a BGS spec is almost completely worthless as it will only effect 1 monster every five minutes, godswords are horrible for normal training, and a DFS as I said before is really not that great in maby cases...except for meleeing dragons. Definately get a rune defender, and maybe bandos armour.

 

 

 

I personally use veracs because I piety flash on tasks, but once I get lazy enough I'll just use the armour.

true, but Whip+Defender=beatsWhip+DFS, so neither is a good thing to buy. Unless the sword in question is a SGS which is just plain awesome as a spec weapon.

Sadly, that's not true. It can only be used at:

 

 

 

1) Sara

 

2) GWD

 

3) Tanking (Guthans is better though)

 

 

 

I guess it can be viewed as a less situational version of a Rune defender, but why not just use both? I mean really, Rune defender takes 2 hours to get.

Only tasks that is bad is metals.

 

 

 

We are comparing what item is best. So feel free to advice that guy to use rune defender: but what good is it if it don't beat dfs overall?

 

 

 

"Some use it at GWD"?? u crazy? DFS is used alot of times.

now you can see them side by side, obviously rune defender has better attack bonuses, and obviously dfs has better defense bonuses, the +2 strength is hardly noticeable unless stacked with other str items (can be very pricey overall)

 

imo godswords are rubbish unless you have ags for pvp, maybe sgs for monster hunting depends on the case. zgs has small uses but not worth its current price.

A defender does more then enough and you get an amazing 20 attack bonus. stack this with super attacks, and even slayer helm, and even piety flashing that is one mighty nice bonus!
