I need finical advice

First of all, this is not me trying to "pay off my mortgage" or anything like that, however i am in a debt.

Secondly, im getting alot of "you dont need that!" posts. These are things im thinking of getting. To be honest at the moment, im focusing on the $210 i already owe.

[hide=My story]Well, i love to play paintball. I happend to get a new paintball gun a little while ago, for about $400, then accumlated another $130 or so in playing games an movies and what not.

Now, i had $90 cash, $100 in bank. That means ive payed off $190 of my gun, leaving me with $210. I need another $100 for a ski pass, so thats $300 i need. Plus, i need a way to fuel my paintball playing, i can easily blow $30 a day with it. I play once a week, usually.

Now, ontop of that, i got a new xbox. It was a great deal, $260 and it came with 2 controllers, 20 games! (I shared it with my brother, so we payed $130 each) Thing is, nearly all of those games are junk, i can name a few games which would easily cost me $200.

And, OH BOY! Theres something else i'd like: a laptop. I can get one used in decent shape for $100-$200.

I'd also like about $100 or so kicking around in my bank, just to spend on moveies, arcades and just hanging out with my friends in general. And, you guessed it: Everything I bought/will buy has been loaned.

$300

$130

$200

$100

+$100

$830[/hide]

So. I need $830. Thing is, i cant get a job locally, so i need some other way to make money. I have some things kicking around i could sell, but i need some way to make money. This is why im asking for your help, i dont know how to make money.

Could you guys just post some ways i could make some money? I really could use some =/

Thanks everyone. I really appreciate your help.

First off, I think you should slow down and buy one thing at a time, perhaps considering the necessity of the items that you want. But never mind that.

Why can't you get a job locally? If it's because you're too young or something, you could always make some money mowing lawns or doing other little jobs like that.

I would advise against simply selling items you have to pay for new ones. It's generally better to establish a way of making your own money instead of relying on selling your things, as you will eventually run out of things to sell.

Cool.

If you can't get a job, there's still plenty of ways to earn cash..

  •
[*:pz6au160]If you have anything left (I got a bit confused whether you actually have $190 or spent it on repaying the loan), buy & sell value items near your home area or online. These include gold/silver items such as chains, bracelets, etc. which are worth around $100, you can easily find a buyer for $10-$20+ above what you paid, buy another one after a sale & repeat

[*:pz6au160]Humility card: Accept household chores for pocket change, mainly to fuel the paintballing sessions since that's a somewhat unnecessary expense

[*:pz6au160]If you're old enough, buy & resell cigarettes to college kids at about $2 above retail pack value. I don't condone smoking, but from a business viewpoint it's a lucrative trade

[*:pz6au160]Fate/Random chance card: Play casino games which have a high mathematical % chance of victory, including but not limited to: Roulette (colours/odd-even only, roughly 50% chance), Blackjack, Texas Hold'em (against other players). Sports betting can also realistically yield good profits if you do your research before every match

[*:pz6au160]Odd-job card: Offer to paint fences or mow lawns/clean garages when opportunity arises or you see posters, low pay but at least it's something, even if your town has no jobs, these will inevitably pop up occassionally

[*:pz6au160]Desperation card: Take part in street fights for money, offer to enforce loan repayment from stubborn people, start playing bagpipes in a street corner for coins, wash car windshields in traffic lights

Also you can decide how badly you really need some of those things, like $100 just for 'throwing around' on movies and friends (it's not a big sum, but if you're budgeting it is)

I'm not planning on getting all of these things at once. As for mowing lawns, i kind of live "in the middle of nowhere", and i wouldnt be able to get much money that way. As for selling things, im trying that as i type.

Im also trying that, but theres not much to be done around here

I think i just might try that...

Here's some advice:

Prevent buying unnessesary things so that you won't worry about debt later.

Deo summarized it all up. You don't need any of those things.

As for your question, I don't know what kind of response you want if you can't get a job, there's no odd jobs to be done and you have no money to start something of your own :| .

But. If you want some money, and if the Xbox games you got are crap, why not just sell those...?

I'm going to suggest you don't do that. If your only way for getting money is to sell what you already have, then you're in for a sad and poor life.

I made thousands in designing, coding and selling website templates and working websites. If you start a decent community growing and a working forum, you can even sell those websites for even more, because the buyer can make money off the ads they'd add to it.

However, if you can't even budget money you don't have, I honestly don't think you can do this. You obviously don't seem to be wanting to work for your money, claiming there's nothing to do when there's always labour needed somewhere. Try cutting down on your useless spending, think of the kids who actually work and don't get to see any of the money they earn, or go out with their friends.

It's not the answer you want, but it's the only realistic one.

I can easily get a few bucks to start something out, and yes, i want too work. But the thing is, theres not much to be done. Ill ask around tomarrow, i doubt i can do much at 1 AM.

You should not buy things you don't need, especially if it's with money you don't have.

I say next time, wait till you have money before buying anything.

That's easy, just sell your RS gp! GWD can make you a few mil an hour, let's say 3 if you have decent luck. Depending on how much gp goes for now, I'd say $4-5, that's $12-15 an hour, doing something you like to do. That's 55-70 hours of doing something you like, and you can pay off all your debts, AND buy a new laptop.

Problem solved, no need to thank me.

Get a job? Also the reason they are calling you a kid is because

1. THATS A HELLA ALOT OF MONEY YOUR ASKING, I make that much money in about 8 hours O.O

2. You spelled Financial wrong and your first post is littered with misspelling and bad Grammar, and some slang.

3. It is a recreational toy your asking about.

Maybe you can sell a few things you don't want?

EDIT:I meant 80 Hours >.<

Wongton is better than me in anyway~~

I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

Stop here.

Look at the way you're buying things. You'll get a laptop, but you'll need games, so you'll need more money for that. You want a ski pass, but you need money to afford for that hobby. You like paintballing, so you might go out for more than one night on the odd week.

You'll just pay off the $800 now, and roll up more debt later.

Just stop buying things you don't need. Sure, I'd love to be able to buy a load of DS games, but I can't. That's life.
