DragnFly
I am sure most of you are aware that Google recently celebrated their tenth birthday. To celebrate, they put a old search database from January 2001 back online: http://www.google.com/search2001.html An interesting tidbit is searching for "RuneScape" on modern google returns 17,800,000 results at the time of this post, whereas a search for it on the old google returns just 842 results. Not too surprising, since RuneScape was just into its first month at the time of this database. (Although results on modern google tend to vary wildly. I have ended up with as many as 51,600,000 results for RuneScape searching last week) I thought many people on here might enjoy messing with it, seeing what they can find using the old google. So feel free to post any interesting searches you find. D's guide to 1 Item objects

Ouchy
It's actually quite interesting going back and looking at my previous school from 2001, and see how times have changed. It's quite nice of Google to do this, it is quite handy! : My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages. BlueLancer
 Sarah Palin fetches 0 results in 2001. So does Bittorrent & YouTube. Technology/the world sure as heck changes fast. This is an extremely interesting feature; You can search future events and see if any predictions or rumors were true, who had inside information, etc... (For example you can search future book titles and find out a few people/sources had information about them years ahead) BTW: This guy writing about 'internet in 2008' was extremely accurate with his predictions, not bad given he wrote it in 1998: http://www.useit.com/papers/internetworld2008.html it's almost exactly as he describes it. World drug report 2000: http://web.archive.org/web/200108011736 ... eport.html Production of opium poppy and coca leaf is concentrated in an ever smaller number of countries. This makes concerted efforts, assisted by alternative development, an increasingly viable option to achieve the targets set out in the 1998 Special Session of the General Assembly which aim at a substantial reduction if not elimination of such production by the year 2008. Progress is also being reported from the demand side, where there are signs of stabilization or even decline in some of the main markets. Ha-ha.. Azvareth
First hit for "world of warcraft": "World of Warcraft" is the title of Blizzards new game, to be shown for the first time tomorrow at the ECTS show in London. WoW (as this site is also known!), will presumably be an online-game, but nothing is known for sure as of yet. Also no hits for The Jonas Brothers or any relevant ones for 4chan. Such glorious times.
