November 10, 200817 yr Looking at TIF for the first time in months and seeing that people are still coming up with these ridiculous suggestions makes me want to scream. F2P deserves NOTHING. So your argument is this: Because F2P's PvP was wrecked (which I'm not denying) they deserve member's items. Let me translate this into the language of logic. "People who don't pay for this game and don't support it or help it grow had it wrecked for them and therefore deserve compensation in the form of items that you usually must pay to be able to get." Huh? How does this work? Since F2P never contributed anything to begin with, they should view the fact that they ever had a game this complex for FREE as a privilege. But demanding member's things? You go too far. I hope I've gotten through to some of you. You think this entire topic makes you want to scream? Shoot, one quick glance at your post nearly had my blood boiling. Figuratively, of course -- no sense in getting worked up on someone else's difference in opinion. Now, if you had cared to read through the entire post (it's long, but you'd have saved yourself a lot of embarrassment), then you'd have realized that the more constructive points on this topic hinged on what Members don't normally use, or what they could realistically part with. Be reasonable now -- what person do you know is willing to pay $6 to use claws, Halberds, Splitbark armor, or Frogskin armor? Most, if not everyone that's posted here believe that freeplayers shouldn't get something that Members use a whole lot, but there's nothing wrong with giving them stuff we don't ever seem to use. You also seem to be very, very wrong about not helping it grow. Where the hell do you think Members come from, thin air? Lastly, on the subject of deserving stuff - we already freaking KNOW that F2P doesn't deserve anything. They still get updates though - on that tone, you could argue that they don't "deserve" it. I think that your "Logic to English" translator is broken. Go back, reread the post, and come back with some well thought-out response to it. However, just becasue most members don't use them doesn't mean that F2P suddenly has the right have it themselves. And thank you very much, I am aware that P2P comes from F2P. November 10, 200817 yr F2P don't DESERVE anything. the adds you see all the time BARELY cover the costs of the servers. You don't DESERVE anything, you WANT them. F2p has gotten a MASSIVE amount of update over the last year or two. Get P2P if you want good pking/skilling/etc

November 10, 200817 yr I think F2P deserves dragon weapons, but all jagex wants is for F2P players to become P2P, and throwing dragon weapons into F2P would stop some from doing so I think. RSN: Ace Howard
November 10, 200817 yr The whole "exclusive PvP item" concept was inherently flawed to begin with, in both Members and F2P. The PvP World items in members are all junk, with the exception of Vesta's Longsword and Morrigan's Javs. All the armor (ALL OF IT) is garbage because of how flawed the defense system is. Armor reduces the probability of your opponent hitting you, but doesn't reduce damage at all. The +20-40 defense and +3-5 strength over the course of ONE HOUR that Statius/Vesta armor offers over barrows is not worth 10m. If the items were able to be repaired for a high price (something like 2m for a weapon, 1m for a plate, 500k for legs, 250k for a helm) instead of disintegrating, then they would have been worth their high pricetags. The same concept applies to the f2p dragon items. They are all overpowered for the amount that you can heal in f2p, but they only last for 30 minutes and cost 200-300k, which negates the advantages they give. The idea of giving overpowered items that only last a short time was good on paper, but it fails in application, due to the randomness of the drop system. Paying 10m for a big advantage would have been worth it if there was a guarantee that you would get over 1m worth of gear from killing someone with several mil worth of gear on them... But because of the RWT threat, that can't happen, thus making these items so expensive yet irreparable was a stupid decision.
November 10, 200817 yr You know, I couldn't care less about the halberds. However, just becasue most members don't use them doesn't mean that F2P suddenly has the right have it themselves. And thank you very much, I am aware that P2P comes from F2P. Hes got a point. Just because we dont use something, doesnt mean FTP needs it. Suppose 3 years down the road, godswords are dirt cheap, 2M for Bandos, 8M for AGS, 1M for saradomin sword, 300k for whip. No one uses whips anymore. Lets give them to FTP. Right? We got [insert overpowered overpriced future equivalent of current godsword weapons] anyway. No one uses whips. Using his logic, no one 'uses' whips anymore because we all now use redicously overpriced uber weapons and the barely powerful godswords. I can see a world where FTP was barrows, whips, and godswords. No one will know the difference between FTP and P2P. Maybe the new players will, but they will see the same change over time (assuming the game lasts that long) but us old players, those who are still around, will see the awful change. This is why FTP deserves barely anything. The occasional update is fine, if it fits with whatever is being updated; not FTP demanding members items because members 'dont use them'. And again, low level members, I have seen use the items you mentioned. Frogskin, splitbark, claws, halberds (dragon halberd anyone?) 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
