We've only had one game, two rained out, one cancelled because of a public holiday...

 

I'm a bowler, so I bat at 11 and wasn't needed in our only game so... But I bolwed pretty well, I got 4/22 off 5,

Which is pretty decent, soon as how my first ball went for 5 wides down the legside...

I did that often..I remember one game when I opened the bowling and my first three balls went for 5 wides..I never opened the bowling again #-o

Got 96 the other week. Felt so dirty because I should've smaked the ball instead of trying to guide it through point.

Good luck. Our game has been cancelled, and its only Friday, so yet another game missed...and I can't play next Saturday cos I have an exam... I swear the world has conspired against me!

Just got back from cricket, here's a rundown:

 

We lost the toss, sent us in to bat. We batter for a good two hours, but were bowled all out for a measly 98. So, we went into the field and, with a great effort from the boys almost sealed our victory, with a great ending. They were 8/36 off 20 overs. OMG!!!!! Great fielding and bowling from the team, looking forward to the mop-up next week. Hoping for an outright :)

Got special permission to play 5 matches, so I'm stoked :D

 

First was today, I took 4/33 from 5. We ended up doing them for about 65 runs. Not bad seeing as I'm usually a batsman and I havent played in almost a year! I only got 9 runs though, our openers destroyed them, they hit 20 something off the first over then just tried to slog it for awhile.

Nz got taken apart in the first ODI... not impressed after Bond's amazing start... <_<

A great win by Australia over India by 3 runs. A high scoring game with 700 runs scored - would've been a great game to watch. A magnificant innings by Tendulkar getting 175. I wish I had FoxSports to see it.

I managed to screw my leg up last week, and this week the captain didn't bowl me because of it, though I said I could bowl.. (was really bloody sore thogh couldn't run properly..)

 

I score 12 batting, pretty bad.. I was seeing it well... Got out by slicing a pull shot badly (so badly it went to cover haha).

They pretty much chased the 155 we scored in like 15 overs.

 

Hoping my leg is better by next training (Tuesday) or at least the one after (Thursday)

 

I'm trying to change my bowling action, as I jump off the wrong leg (which is what happens when you never get coaching :P). SO far it feels awkward trying to change my action, but its worth it, I've already managed a bit more pace and a bit more inswing from doing so, and I havn't really got it right yet.

 

And onto NZ, woohoo we won a game! McCullum finally plays a decent ODI innings this year, its been a problem for him to convert starts into scores. All down to the third ODI now, hoping it goes NZ's way :)

 

Also as I write, India 27/4... Too bad its not on TV

Wow I jump off the wrong foot too, makes my action look pretty weird when I see it on video. I tried to change it last year, but I gave up after not long. It's a very hard thing to do when you've been doing it for years.

What are the main benefits/weakness of bowling off the wrong foot for you? I don't find it that bad, I get decent bounce and outswing, not really much inswing though.

Yeah, I always hear things about how my action looks haha.

 

Advantages? I'm not really sure, because I don't know how I'll bowl with jumping off the proper leg.

But I'm very consistant with line and length, and get quite a bit of inswing (have a front on action).

A weakness for me is that the ball seems to sit up, rather then going through at a decent pace, even though I don't bowl that slow. (if that makes sense :P)

Not a big problem though, considering I just bowl a good length usually.

 

Yeah, I'm actually changing my action because as I said my leg has been sore lately, and I think its from bowling off the wrong leg.

And, yeah, amazing innings by Sachin, I really thought he was going to make 200 for a while. I was pretty surprised he got man of the match though, since Watson got 93 and three wickets with a really good economy. I guess it is being judged in India..

I reckon 175 is better than Watson's effort. The way our points are calculated at State Championships is .01 points for each run and .20 for each wicket. So 1 wicket = 20 runs. Using that, a 5 for is equal to a century for a batsman. So Watson got 153 to Sachin's 175. Still unlucky for Watson but I agree with the decision

Went and watched Otago vs Nothern Disctricts today after my exam. Otago got all out for 89 lol.

And ND were 155/5 when I left. Not a great start to the season Otago...

 

I was looking foward to Kane Williamson bat, but he only got two...he's a pretty good young player - watch out for that name, if he performs well he may feature in the NZ ODI/T20 squad by the end of the summer, if not in the next few years.

 

Also Got to see Nick Beard bowl, a decent young spinner (which is rare for NZ) who was in my group for Sociology tutorials in the first semester.

 

Oh and a P.E teacher from my school, Shaun Haig was also playing :thumbsup:

Missing pretty much 2 weeks of cricket =/

Thursday training, Saturdays match, Tuesday training for me leg to properly heal, and then next Saturday we have a bye.

 

So thats one training session for 2 weeks...
