Sick

Featured Replies

I haven't been sick in years. The worst that ever hit me was Meningitis...and that was when I was four. Ten years on, I have only been really sick about five times. One day though, when I get sick again, it will be really bad...

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

As a general rule, I don't really get sick. If a bug that's going around affects me, it's generally only for 2-3 days, while it's hitting everyone else for 1-2 weeks. I'm not sure why, really.

The one time I truly had something bad was when I had stomach flu. Basically, I had a bad headache, and took some advil. Didn't do jack, so I had some more. Apparently, it was too many for a normal person, which brings us to the stomach flu.

That same night, not 4 hours after this, I was on the toilet with a bucket in front of me (toilet because my digestive system just felt that was the right time to purge, bucket because not all of it went south), barely able to move. After about an hour or 2 of this, I am emptied enough to be able to go from my house to the ER without anything slipping out, after which I had to go through some scans and them putting me on an IV drip, which I think was water, really.

After I get back to the house, basically from then until around 2 nights after, I was basically experiencing what equates to a bad acid trip. While I wasn't in any bodily pain (at this point, I was barely even conscious when I was awake), I was seeing things that would probably put most sane people in a straight jacket for life without some sort of protection. After this, I was functional at around normal levels. It was removed entirely after a week from that point.

That probably explains my resolve to never take any medication (legal or otherwise) for any reason aside from doctor-sanctioned necessity. Translated, the only drugs going into my system are by doctor's orders. It also probably explains why I hate the taste of Sprite now (what I drank to down the advil). Sounds fun, huh?

Don't talk smack if you're not willing to say it to the person's face. On the same line, if you're not willing to back up your opinions no matter what, your opinion may as well be nonexistent.

ODing* on things like Advil sucks. I did it with Tylenol on accident once. I basically ended up feeling really weird and I thought I was going to die at one point. I managed to sleep long enough for my body to work it out and I felt fine the next morning. Bad news for your liver too.

*Before someone says OD = death, ODing on a substance does not always mean you die. The gov't has brought you to believe that, while OD actually means taking more than the maximum recommended dosage.

40 people were absent from my grade (of 140 people) on Monday due to the stomach flu :? I haven't been sick for a while though.

Last time I was sick was with the flu when the olympics were on, thank god they were on too or I'd have been bored outa my mind.

Honestly so many people were sick this winter though.

Doomy edit: I like sheep

I got tonsillitis two years ago. It's a horrible thing to come down with. Basically, your tonsils just swell up, you get really thirsty no matter what you drink, and just swallowing is very painful. As an extra added bonus, it gets bundled with vomiting and diarrhoea. Luckily though, you build up a resistance to it, so I don't think I'll ever get it again.

Happened to me in Fifth grade, awful experience.

However, I don't get sick often, havent actually been "sick" for the last 2 years. (Sometimes I just fake sick when I need a day off of school, but only like once every few months)

I had to get a series of operations last year because my colon (which removes liquid from your fecal matter so its all hard like) grew out of my large intestine like the appendix does.It kept getting flipped inside out for some half-assed reason,so my poop flow was limited and wet.I called it constipated diarrhea.

Any way after a bunch of operations just getting it flipped back eventually we just went to spread it out -.- Thank the omnipotent one for medical help,or we'd've gone broke.

So yeah pretty much the diarrhea hit the fan there.

And then I keep getting asthmatic stuff... dang.

I remember back like 7 years ago or something we had I think 20 people absent from my class (back when you were in one class all day with the same kids) out of around 25 people. Of course I wasn't sick, I got it about a month later.

I also got Norwalk virus or something like that 2 years ago when I was at camp. I threw up for about 30 hours straight. Well, I actually emptied the contents of my stomach in the first few hours so it was dry heaving or whatever for the rest of the time. :-X

[bleep] the law, they can eat my dick that's word to Pimp

Got food poisoning from McDonald's and threw up ten times that night. Didn't get any sleep at all.

Also, I've had an incredibly painful and persistent cough for about seven weeks now.

I dont get sick easily. Last time I was actually physically sick was when I had way too much Vodka. Last time I felt ill though was... when I ate too much.

Proud to hate life, since not too long ago!!!

I had Mono two years ago for a week and a half. It really sucked, I had no energy or appetite at all so the whole time I was lying down and forcing myself to eat. I also got constant headaches and it killed to swallow unless I drank tons of liquids, which made me have to go the bathroom, which sucked because I was always so tired. I also had the symptoms in school for like 2-3 days before I went to the doctors, which sucked.

i hate getting sick i'm rarely sick but when it hits it hits hard

3 weeks ago i had a runny nose... i was thinking my luck is never this good with colds. that night i started couphing and barely got any sleep. i only got about an hour of sleep but when i woke up i could barely breathe!!! not fun being rushed to emergancy at 5 in the morning.

found out that day that i have a mild case of asthma and for somereason this cold agrevated it where none have before :wall:

Me behave? Seriously? As a child I saw Tarzan almost naked, Cinderella arrived home from a party after midnight, Pinocchio told lies, Aladin was a thief, Batman drove over 200 miles an hour, Snow White lived in a house with seven men, Popeye smoked a pipe and had tattoos, Pac man ran around to digital music while eating pills that enhanced his performance, and Shaggy and Scooby were mystery solving hippies who always had the munchies. The fault is not mine! if you had this childhood and loved it put this in your signature!

i get sick about 13-16 times a year.

usually it's not that bad, but about 3-4 times a year ill get really sick.

on average i miss about a month of school from being sick. i have a really crappy immune system.
