Most brutal band ever?

What is cad, that what he says is absolutely, 100% true?

Even the matter of which diamond consists(carbon) is not marked as metal, so I don't see a reason why would diamond be a metal. It is a mineral and one of the most precious gems(tones), but deffinitly NOT a metal. End of story.

I'm studying metallurgy and i think i know just a little bit more about metals and non-metals than you.

EDIT: can we please stop this discussion, because we have gone way off topic. Thanks.

A miserable little pile of secrets.

The point wasnt that diamond is a metal, its that its a softer metal than dragonforce, its not a hard concept to grasp. Honestly.

Funny, that.

Anyway, as you say, thats that.

Black Dhalia Murder has to rank up there.

In my books they're around #697

Although, there isn't a scale for brutality, so you can't really find out the most brutal. It depends on what you define as brutal. If it's to do with the loudest then Noise would probably win. The amount of bass, Slamming Death Metal. How low the guitar is, Porngrind. The speed of the drumming, Goregrind. It goes on...

Brutal in what sense? We have hordes of mindless bands with brutality their only aim. Not my style. Right now, in my collection, Behemoth is about as brutal as it gets. Love all of their material.

I'm being purposefully nondescript, but brutal by sound alone.

For what it's worth I completely agree, the majority of brutal death metal bands seem to have the sole purpose of being brutal for the sake of it. As a result, the music suffers, hence why many people deride the genre for being uncreative and derivative. Having said that, there are some diamonds in the rough, like Suffocation.

Led Zeppelin was pretty brutal when I first heard it.Brutal in the sense that I wanted to kill myself.

In that sense, Hannah Montana wins this.

Seriously though, only group mentioned here that I've heard was Cannibal Corpse, and it literally was painful to my ears.

I'm not saying it was bad, though when I heard it, the heaviest band I had ever heard was Megadeth  . Quite a difference.

Lol, the first time that I listened to CC it was the same. But after listening to some Not-so-brutal-but-more-brutal-than-the-other-band-I-listened-to you start to get used to more brutal sounds and you start getting used to it and enjoying it.

the problem with Cannibal Corpse is pretty much the vocals. Yes, I have listened to Cannibal Corpse and I will admit that a couple of their songs are catchy (their cover of Metallica's No Remorse is decent and Death Walking Terror is awesome), but the vocals easily turn me off since half the time I can't understand what Corpsegrinder is growling about. Apart from that, Cannibal Corpse is ok.

F***... I'm Dead is brutal in an ott kind of way.

If you ask me, they're pretty weak. I'm so used to heavy stuff right now, most Grind has become light listening.

An amazing song to headbang to: Raped By Elephants by Torsof*ck. I hurt my neck headbanging to that.

Cannibal Corpse have always seemed pretty pathetic to me, to be honest. If you're looking for the upper boundaries of sound, then Harsh Noise is where it's at, like Masonna.
