Noone doing Duel Tournaments?

My question is simple: Why oh why is the most populated themed world for Duel Tournaments almost empty (meaning that reg 1, 2 and 3 are doing tournies, but not 4 and 5). Tournaments are so much fun, and I know that many people think the same.

 

So why are there so few people doing them?

They are fun but coast money to start even though it is minimial some people like the lvl 80s have no shot at it so only 120+ win.

There's 2 theme worlds, make sure you go to the right one.

 

Also, the main reason that no one is there might be that it is night. Try when it is morning.

Personally, I don't do duel tournaments often. I'm not a big serious PvPer. I like the normal duel arena because it's fun, and everyone (except the egotists) doesn't take it seriously. Sometimes I like to wear ringmaster just for the fun of it, and see if I can win.

Everyone will easily make fun of you, accuse you of safing, call you names, because they're in competitive "must win" mode, and forget about manners. I just like dueling for fun, but if I wanted to PvP for profit, I'd use PvP worlds or Bounty Hunter.

 

 

 

Of course, not everyone's like me. So just try at a busier time.

I think you're generalising too much here. The vast majority will atleast say "gf" afterwards.

 

And the argument to try at a busier time isn't valid, since there were 155k people online at the time.

Well, I generalise a lot... But those are usually the type of people I run into. I must have bad luck in every aspect...

 

 

 

So I guess no one likes duel tournaments, what do you want me to say? I wish more people would play though, in case I ever get over my fear of stuck up PKers.

I won the first duel tournament I ever participated in yesterday (I just wanted to unlock the music track).

 

 

 

World 54 is pretty much empty all times of the day from what I've heard.

 

World 83 was busy at mid-afternoon (Pacific Coast, US) for me

nah, i do dual tournments to kill boredom, and most ppl are actually very nice. only the lower leveled and pures who think are beter then the other complain about the match outcome. and yes, world 83 is the best for tournments in ym opinion.

Yea, alot of high lvl people have that problem. They get a too high rank and there are too few people as high lvl as them, so they are unable to do any tournaments.

Yeah, I had that problem. Which, unfortunately means I have to lower my rank to play. Seems unfair that I'm in the first booth, beating all the lower levels.

It's a shame that it isn't very popular because I personally find it one of the most fun things to do in Runescape, I've only done it a few times, won a couple, lost a couple, and it was wonderful, all the people I faced were competitive but we all had respect for each other and it was nice seeing different set ups for fighting and stuff.

 

 

 

I nearly got pwned by one dude who was a considerably lower combat level in comparison to me because of some awesome Dragon Dagger specs he hit on me and I'll always remember the first final I got to were I had 2 HP left, no food, pots or prayer and I was fighting a guy in Dharok who had a little bit of health left, we hit a good chunk of zeroes and I managed to finish him off in the end and won a nice bit of cash.

 

 

 

Jagex should update it or something, give it some interesting rewards like maybe increased exp rates for a short duration depending on how far you got into the tournament? And maybe some decorative armour, like gold trimmed mithril or something daft. :mrgreen:

Yea, it's really sad seeing how fun it actually is. Could it be as simple as to divide the regs into CB lvl groups?

duel tournies are pretty fun and to who said they were never popular to begin with the first week or 2 (as always with new updates) it was pretty crowded and u never had problems finding a tourney (went to my last drop party there :cry:) now if u have low rank and get lucky enough to find other ppl fighting its easy to get in a tourney but soon as u hit that 1800 mark u might as well forget it and whats worse every1 figures that out so they hit 1800 and dont come back cause theres not gonna b enough ppl there to make it worth it and as for the 3 worlds 83 always has 1k+ ppl in it but absolutely no1 goes to the tournies hardly and those that do turn around and go right back up cause no1 else is in there but tbh with bounty hunter and now pvp no pker is gonna want to go to a duel tourney for a chance to win 20k after however long of waiting :(

i've been in one today, for song, was rather busy :shock:

 

ended up almost owning this one noob, then letting him win with low hp (was highest level in my tournament btw \ ) :lol:

 

he seemed grateful, and i finally had 500 songs :

I heard from a friend reg 5 is totally death now. For reg 4, there are only tournies sometimes at around 7pm GMT on the weekends. It's sad but true, it is definitely my favourite minigame. Owh and world 54 is totally dead too, don't bother looking there, unless you're reg 1 or 2. 3+ is all in world 80 something (forgot which one exactly, it's a British world).

Having a high rank is, opposed to what it should be , very bad. There`s barely any1 on tournaments of 1800+ rank , so people like me that wish to continue playing this minigame can`t play.

 

As someone posted already , it would be a great idea to make the tournaments based in combat levels or some specific skill like just 80+ mage tournament or something instead of rank based that doesnt allow people like me to play freely this minigame
