D claws... Ranged spec?!?!

No, that's just lag, you do it with loads of specials, the reason it looks like you're standing away is because the "emote" that the special does stands still and moves for a long amount of time.

I have noticed in PvP you can spec someone from quite a few squares, 3-5 or maybe even more away with the d claws special. this adds even more to the deadly weapon's might! Has anyone else noticed this?

I'm pretty sure it's a graphical issue that delays it showing you moving next to your target...

The emote for the special attack is one that stops you, so it just appears that way.

I have been koed by someone not even near me using d claws. Maybe they are glitching it somehow? They never show up beside me, i just die from far away. and I know it's not lag.

People who range understand this phenomenon well... It juat happens, not a glitch and it isn't ranged.

OH S***! He/she/it is back!

It's not a glitch when someone ko's me with a melee weapon from 5 spaces away, and never even takes a step toward me?

it is LAG. they are still in the process in running toward you. if you were to try and atk them you would be able to hit them. :wall: :wall:

It's not a glitch... it's just simple lag. They start the attack when they are next to you, but the animation doesn't start until you are a couple of squares away. For the most extreme example, look at far casters. They start a spell at the furthest range possible, yet the spell doesn't launch until you have ran at least 5 squares.

I has herd, that lesser demons, MAY or may not, drop tormented demons. \:D/  :x :D :o  :? 8-)

Due to a typo, I am now stuck with 1k dragon darts and no buyer. Can I has bail out from tip.it plox?

It's not lag =/ It's just a graphical glitch thing.

Remember how you used to stop running when attacked if you had a defender weilded? Or when you tried to alch while running.

Technically you're still moving, but the game just doesn't show you because Jagex messed up somewhere, and when your animation for the action is over, you'll appear where you should have been if you'd just been running normally.

Yes, I've done that with my Saradomin owl before. I would cast high alchemy, then my Saradomin owl would walk to the point where I clicked, while I would still be alching away from it. I would be gradually dragged to my owl, while I performed more alchemy spells.

I have been able to whip monsters across rooms before, dishing out severaly hits and even ko's without moving. It just happens, and when some(one/thing) does this to you, you can do it in return (either you will attack and move at the same time, you will have a long range melee battle). The whip can do it, the dragon scimmy can do it, the dragon long sword can do it and your fists can do it. It just happens, get over it. Its not a glitch or a cheat, it a phenomenon that is graphical in nature. It basicly ammounts to your computer not getting the signal that someone moved, or the server forgetting to move you (since teh remains sometimes spawn at range, but sometimes not).

Its not a ranged attack, its only animation lag.

The same example can be done with the Lumbridge Diary Ring.

While running, restore energy on the ring, The animation will keep you in place, and after the animation is over, you will appear were you really were speeding up to catch up.

The same is for claws or any item that has a "long" set of animation frames. The game doesn't rely on animations to function, they are just played out when you start an activity, which is why we get this. There are many other events out there that do it to players and monsters. Something that's not a glitch or bug, but kinda hard to get rid of in a programming point of view.

Here's a good example, showing there are plenty of other things that do this:
