When I train slayer, there's only a couple of worlds with 1950+ population. Most of them are already taken by cannoners. All the rest are taken by meleers. When I find one that doesn't have a cannoner, I'm going to kick out the meleer. I'm the one that needs 1900+ population, he doesn't. It's not harsh or cruel, it's simply true.

Cannoners have every right to kick out a meleer. It's the meleer's choice to leave. I don't even have a cannon and I know this is true.

Oooh I totally love people like you.... NOT!

You dont have any more right to a full world than a meleer/mager or ranger. We all pay to play and as such we *all* have the same entitlement to training spots.

Sadly this is the kind of attitude that gets cannoners a bad name... arrogance speaks volumes.

I wish you well in your Campaign Ju1es, you have my support :)

And I think non-cannoners should respect cannoners because all they really want is faster exp, and they damn right can do that if they want to.

You said it yourself. We all have the same entitlement to training spots. Which means a cannoner can go anywhere he pleases. If that's where some meleer is, than so be it. He has every right to be there.

There is the question of respect though.

I respect peoples entitlement to training spots, and if I happen to log into a world where a cannoner is already there then I wouldn't dream of *demanding* that they hop/or forcing them leave. Sadly the same cannot be said for *some* cannoners (as demonstrated by compfreak847).

As I said previously, I fully support you Ju1es :)

Mythiquedame.png

Yep I support, I'm more than willing to spend 40 seconds being polite.

If a meleer trains on a 1000- world, he gets exactly the same XP as he would on a 2000 world. As a cannoner, I can get double the XP at a full instead of empty world. Now, would I be nice, waste 30 seconds, and hop to an empty world to get half the XP for the next few hours, or be 'mean' and make the meleer waste 30 seconds hopping to the 100- world, where he and I both get max XP? I'm going to make the meleer hop. Runescape is just a big competition anyway. The meleer can easily be polite and spend 30 seconds hopping rather then make me spend hours getting half the XP I would otherwise.

i am talking about when cannoners just go right into spots where meleers are ALLREADY training and try and take over and push them out, its just not fair!

Whoa!!!

Hang on a minute, why the hell should a meleer be polite to you when you crash them determined to kick them from a world??? Are you ploite to them? I'm guessing not (I am prepared to stand corrected if you are...given the above post I sincerely doubt it)

I am a meleer and I am always polite. I wont entertain arrogance or ignorance, sure if I am asked politely if I can hop I will always consider it. Try and force me to hop and I will remain where I am. I too can get more xp on a full world meleeing because of quicker respawns than I can on an empty world.

I applaud you Ju1es :)

Mythiquedame.png

Your choices, as a cannoner:

#1 Fight the meleer for the full world after asking politely to leave, as I always do, simply because it's easier then fighting

#2 Hop to an empty world, and get half the XP

Your choices, as a meleer:

#1, try to fight the cannoner, making a small impact on his XP and getting much less drops\XP then you would normally

#2 Hop to an empty world, and get the same XP as a full world and much more then if you tried to fight.

It isn't much of a choice.

Never used a cannon, but if it makes my baby happy, i'm happy! \' ::'

Simply put, everyone has access to a cannon. It's not limited to this player or that player (maybe players with more cash flow have easier access to it) but whose fault is it that you are to poor or have to much "pride" to use a cannon? Not the guy that just logged in whose setting his up, that's for damn sure.

And I am a stubborn son-of-a-gun. I am the guy that sits there and fights the cannon guy even though I know I am losing out on exp. But I still do not argue with him or nag him to leave. I know cannoners are coming and if I don't bring mine I am more likely to get bullied out of my spot.

Happens everyday, either you can whine or keep moving on in your life.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

Always be polite about it, whether you're meleeing or cannoning. If you are logging into a spot where someone else is training, ask them politely if they would be willing to hop because you are planning to cannon - in 70% of the cases they will hop for you. Some are almost finished with the task and can't bother hopping (which is fair of course), and some are people with attitudes already displayed in this topic. There are also a few who say "I was here first, deal with it." Depending on my mood, I deal with it in that world or another. :P

Everyone does not have access to a cannon, and some of us prefer to spend our gp on skills rather than cannonballs. That doesn't give others an infinite right of being rude and wasting the time of those choosing other training methods. Some of the best Slayers in RuneScape don't even use cannons at all, Mythiquedame (currently ranked 7) is a perfect example.

You're accusing me of bigotry, how ironic. It's a nice attempt at argument, but your responses are facile and asinine, if not diatribe. Who's arrogant now?

Cannons usually don't stay that long anyway. It isn't worth to get upset about when one comes.

By carefully choosing your targets as a meleer vs a cannon'eer, you can actually make a dent in the opponents experience gathering.

That is, if your stats are high enough.

And then it becomes an amusing pass time: trying to annoy the cannon'eer.

100% support Mrs Slayer!

Whether they cannon or not, respect goes a long way between fellow slayers. <3:

Like I said everyone DOES have access. (As long as they've completed the quest  ) Usually slayers have money for cannons too, however, they prefer to use their money elsewhere. So since they CHOOSE not to use a cannon it doesn't give them the right to cry over "spilled milk" when a cannon user comes to use the fast respawns of that world. Anyone who trains in worlds 2,6,9 or 144 should know there will be cannons. So whining because a guy with a cannon came along really doesn't make you right and him wrong, whether he asks you to hop or not. You don't whine when someone else with a whip comes, do you? Is it fair that you do when Mr. Cannon gets set up? I think not.

And like I said, its your CHOICE to not use a cannon. So the fact that Myth is ranked 7th and doesn't use a cannon really doesn't serve a purpose in the discussion. They choose (like I said) to not use it, however, they cannot complain when someone with a cannon comes along since they chose to use something that increases their slayer exp/hour.

No one's name is on the training spots, so there is no need to ask permission. Respect? There is no respect on RS, its a GAME. If you want respect go become president (or leader of your country) or go invent something spectacular that the human race has been living without. Don't expect respect over the internet.

Apparently, my signature was to big.

I only cannon 2 tasks... Daganoths under the lighthouse and Kalphites lvl 85.

There are more than enough daganoths for at least 3-4 players under the lighthouse. I'll set up my cannon there without a word and leave 15 minutes later.

If there is another slayer at Kalphites, I'll hop 2-3 times and then settle for the first world without a cannon "kicking" the meleer with a "sorry mate - I've hopped too many times already". But I won't feel bad about it. If the meleer stays, too bad for him and good for me as I'll be getting "half-kills" faster.
