Blue heelers would have to be my favorite breed, with bulldogs in second place.

If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person.

I like mutts more than purebreds. My current dog is the a bit bigger than a dachsund and looks somewhat like one, but his head is too big. He's awesome <3:

But I do like border collies and Siberian huskies. There's a border collie on my lane that's deaf and has one blue eye and one green eye. I love him.

My uncle has this mix, and it's probably the best dog I've ever known. I'll show the family tree, since I don't know its real name. I can't find a picture, though.

We just keep running into each other, don't we? Don't deal in absolutes.. you will almost always be wrong ;) Many dogs don't even bark at all. And honestly, there are probably more people out there who are killers than dogs  If a dog does try to bite/kill you, it's usually the owner's fault 100% because they didn't properly socialize and/or train their dog.

My favorites are Golden Retriever and Husky, though people keep telling me owning a husky isn't so great since they don't like to be indoors.

That isn't necessarily true. No, they won't being cooped up in the house ALL the time (well some might ;)), but it's not like they won't enjoy their time inside. No dog should be left outside all the time. Huskies just aren't good for apartments. They need a lot of exercise and are very active dogs. So a back yard is a big plus ;) But they do like being inside and as long as you take them for long walks/jogs/whatever, they're fine.

Huskies and Golden Retrievers are awesome. I also like Collies and Cocker Spaniels ( I have one myself). Also, Carpathian Sheepdogs, these dogs here: http://www.bucovinadogs.ro/galerie/0.htm. They're so beautiful. My grandma had a white one when I was little. It was huge xD Big paws, big head and very fluffy.

Actually there are very few dogs I don't like. I generally don't like small dogs like Chihuahuas and Pekingese dogs. The latter ones I really hate, I think they're ugly and the ones I met all had very bad disposition. Mean little ****ers.

...My dog family tree looked a lot cooler in my post preview. Well, it's an extremely awesome mutt. All colors of lab, a golden retriever, a wolf, and a husky.

There might even be some daschund and border collie in there, because the grandma retriever was a mutt in every sense of the word. And daschunds and collies are so damn cute it's hard to believe that dog doesn't have part of one of 'em. Calmest dog I've ever met, too.

By the way, if anyone here plans on getting a lab, make sure you get the right kind. Yellow labs are a lot like golden retrievers, best around children, usually calm, don't shed much (if at all), but will play if you want them too. Black labs are very calm, but don't like anyone to get in their face. Chocolate labs grow the most out of proportion, shed like crazy, and have insane energy. I've had all of the above. I WUB PUPPIES.

Birds are less domesticated than dogs. >_>

Of course, I know plenty of people from the Birds (film) era that are scared silly of the little fly-y guys. Whatever.

Someone I know has an absolutely insane phobia of birds (I don't personally know why) but it must really interfere with her job, shes a police officer :
