Tomas Edison because without him we would be watching tv in the dark

Pretty sure the lightbulb set down some foundations for stuff like the TV.

Its a joke because he "invented" electricity and the lightbulb.

Well he didn't exactly "invent" the light bulb, he just made improvements to it. Since there was a working light bulb before him that means he didn't "invent" electricity either then. (in fact nature invented electricity, not any one human)

Due to the movie with the little mouse i saw he invented the first practical one.

Thats why I quoted "invented" because nature did.

Hello friend, Senajitkaushik was epic, Good luck bro.

I thought of one while I was in bed going to sleep (yep, I'm one messed up 18 year old male :P)

Nye Bevan. The millions of people in this country that would have gone without basic healthcare if he hadn't got the NHS to work with the support of doctors. Also, his role as Minister of Labour during the War. It remains the case that only one major strike occurred in Britain in the whole War despite the poor working and living conditions of the time. Trade Unionist before his political career with the Labour Party. Great man.

There's too many.

Basically anyone who stood up for what they believe in during desperate or hard times. The ones that dared say "No!" when the rest was forced to say yes. The ones who didn't fear prosecution as long as they helped another. I'm talking about people like Martin Luther King, Mahatma Ghandi, and all those other people which are usually classified under this category.

My sister. She's a wonderful person, and even though I can be a real pest she won't give up on me.

And the guy who threw a shoe at Bush, because his action caused the world to laugh in the middle of a financial crisis.

Sir William Crookes deserves rocognition; without his discovery of cathode rays, we would not be watching television or playing on the computer right now.

Not necessarily, LCD's for instance, don't use CRT's. And he didn't discover cathode rays, he invented cathode ray tubes.

Zezima - I don't need to explain.

As a whole, I would have to say youth leaders, the amount to preperation they put into youth events is enourmous, and they don't get much recognition. Plus more often then not they will never know if they made an impact in someones life. Believe it or not but I am more interested in becoming a youth leader because of not much recognition, I tend to hide if people want to thank me for something to a group I hide (I also hated going up at awards assemblies.)

No, like the youth leaders at churches, they put in alot of effort for teens, and are often not given recognition, especially from quiet a few kids at my youth, who wouldn't say thanks without having to be given a glare from their mum.

That Vietnamese Monk who burned himself alive to protest the war in Vietnam. His picture is all over the internet and is now a common symbol for rebelling for a righteous cause. The image is disturbing yet you can't be disgusted because of how admirable his sacrifice was. While we're on the subject of protest, let's not forget the man in Tiananmen Square who boldly stood in front of the tanks. These guys have way more courage than a spoiled bastard like me will ever have.

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

http://linkagg.com/ Not my site, but a simple, budding site that links often unheard-of websites that are amazing for usefulness and fun.

The guy who burned himself alive didn't exactly earn my respect for what he did - I think it was pointless. There are far better ways than killing yourself to protest. I mean, he made a stand, and you have to find that honorable, but he burned himself alive. He could have done even more good alive than dead. But, to be honest, who'm I to judge.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

But, to be honest, who'm I to judge.

At first, I was going to try to make a funny post by saying "You're lenticular, [bleep]" but then I stopped and studied that post for a while and realized that I actually respected it.

Not like my respect matters but just hadta say that.

Actually, it was a pivotal moment and focused the attention of the entire world on what was happening in Vietnam.
