nightshade53 Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 Hi, well I own a SGS and am just about to get 88 summoning. I do alot of dks and some gwd, currently have 70 prayer. I'm considering selling my sgs and buying the bones for 90 prayer, which will cost me 34m. I'm just wondering if it's worth it? (I'll also get 132 combat which is nice :) ) I'll also go down to about 30 mil net worth, which sounds.. very low :( Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ultimatballr Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 I burnt 19m for 85 prayer when I was at 70.. I never once regretted it. I just spend 60m more to get the bones for 99 prayer. Again, no regrets here. Prayer is a great skill to have maxed, you really can't go wrong with it. However, you should just keep your SGS if you are going to be "broke" after getting 90 prayer. I don't really see a SGS as being necessary for profit from GWD or DK's, it is really just one of those convenient things to have. Without it you will still be able to profit from your monster hunting and with 20 additional prayer levels use less p pots or sup restores anyway which cuts some of the costs. Orly_Owl Posted January 8, 2009 Share Posted January 8, 2009 Alot of prayer potions that will make your prayer drain rate match up to 90 is nowhere near 34m, unless you really do use that much. Though, theres no real need of an SGS anymore with bunyips, but, its a great weapon. You'd probably be better off just continueing to save until you can afford both. Also, you might as well stop at 88 or go to 92, because you get an extra point/dose at every 4th level. I'd think the Prayer levels would be better, but you would NEVER be able to cash it back. But this highly depends on what you do... it's useless at Bandos, questionable during Slayer (specials add a lot of xp/hour...) but very useful at DK's.
