I generally hear Lamb of God referred to as Groove Metal. Though that's a sub-genre I've never understood.. You could probably just call them Metalcore. Either way, they're definitely not Melodeath. Although the band has lately settled into a simplified, groove-laden variant of their traditional speed/power metal mix; their early material showed conveyed even a black metal tinge.
