January 24, 200917 yr Yes, outer space. The universe. Whatever you want to call it. Peronsally, I find it an amazing thing. What ive always wondered is; Where does it end? HOW does it end? Is there a wall? What's behind that wall? Also, it would be amazing to be in space. Zero gravity would be awesome in my opinion, but obviously it would pose problems very fast :| Its always been my dream to travel into space. Anyways. Discuss. Questions you have about it, things you would do if you were in space. Will humans ever move to other planets? :

Discuss : I not sure what were suposed to discuss but im guesing its those questions up there and i think that the universe is a never ending place and if there is a wall i bet it would be bigger by like a million miles ever day.
January 24, 200917 yr We mineaswell discuss how many arms we think God has. We'd probably get farther. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series.

It's probably more than a million miles a day, closer to a million light years if anything. The universe is expanding, so although one could phsyically be at the edge, with even the human race's most futuristic technology, we'd never actually get there, it would expand at a faster rate than we could travel.

January 24, 200917 yr I believe that we need to fully explore our own planet before going of and finding new places. We also need to make peace among ourself incase we come into some intelegent life forms. We don't want to look like uncivilized brutes in front of a new species do we?

We'll either be that or new rulers. Don't much matter. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

January 24, 200917 yr Then was neither being nor non-being; there was no realm of air nor sky beyond. Whatcovered it, and where? what sheltered it? Was water there, unfathomed depth of water? Death was not then, nor was there aught immortal; no sign was there, nor day's and night'sdivider. That One being, breathless, breathed by its own nature: apart from it there wasnothing else. Darkness there was: at first concealed in darkness all was indiscriminate chaos. All thatexisted then was void and formless: by the great power of warmth was born that unit. Thereafter rose desire in the beginning, desire, the primal seed and germ of spirit. Seers whosearched their heart for wisdom discovered the kinship between the being and non-being. Transversely was their severing line extended: what was above it then, and what below it?There were seminal begetters, there were mighty forces, free action here and energy upyonder. Who knows and who can say, whence it was born and whence came this creation? The Godsare later than this world's creation. Who knows then whence it first came into being? He, the first origin of this creation, whether he formed it all or did not, He who surveys it allfrom his highest heaven, he verily knows it, or perhaps even he does not! Nasadiya Sukta. Ancient Sanskirt Verse, Philospohers and Comsologists still study it. Read and be humbled.
January 24, 200917 yr That is quite beautiful. Nice blend of mysticism and rationality. Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
January 24, 200917 yr I'm glad you liked it It is arguing whether matter, space time, came before "god". Did "god" create, or did he just watch in awe ? Who knows the answers to any of these questions ? Why do we think. Why do we think to think.
January 24, 200917 yr This reminds me of an interesting children's story. A boy wonders why he always sees the same people jogging everyday and decides to follow one of them to see where they go. He then finds a barnful of joggers and decides to lock them in the barn as a prank. After a few days the world starts to get blurry and the boy realizes with no one looking at the world it ceases to exist. He begins jogging to repair the world then unlocks the joggers having now joined their ranks Orthodoxy is unconciousnessthe only ones who should kill are those who are prepared to be killed.
January 24, 200917 yr Did "god" create, or did he just watch in awe ? Ever knocked over a whole awesome row of dominoes? I kinda like to think of it like that. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
January 24, 200917 yr The Bible says God made us in his own image. Guessing he has two arms. We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
January 24, 200917 yr Guy, guys everyone knows that God has as many arm as he wants. BUT no matter how many hands he has he can only have 23 fingers.
January 24, 200917 yr Guy, guys everyone knows that God has as many arm as he wants. BUT no matter how many hands he has he can only have 23 fingers. Are we counting thumbs as fingers here? Because if not, he could just have hands covered with thumbs. Hegemony-Spain
January 24, 200917 yr Did "god" create, or did he just watch in awe ? Ever knocked over a whole awesome row of dominoes? I kinda like to think of it like that. So, "god's" perfectly blanced and well placed system was knocked over and what ensued was tradgedy, mishap and ill-fated creation for 3 seconds of entertainment ? This is what parents must feel, 2 minutes of pleasure and then a lifetime of a demented version of themselves running around ruining their [cabbage]. Are you saying we are all semi-meaningless screwups ? :(
January 24, 200917 yr What exactly are we discussing here? In my mind the sciences that say the universe started with the Big Bang, it is expanding etc. they could all just be educated guesses but there will never be real proof of it. i think the universe was always infinite. it never ends. there are spaces in space where it is just pitch black i guess with no planetary objects or anything, but i think that it has always been infinite. because ... if it does stop then what is the other side....
January 24, 200917 yr Where does it end? HOW does it end? Is there a wall? What's behind that wall? I don't remember what it was, but I heard an interesting theory where the universe is constantly expanding at a rate faster than it's possible for any person (someone with the power to perceive things) to travel, therefore it's impossible for us to ever know if that wall exists or not. It nullifies the question altogether.
January 24, 200917 yr True, but what if, we were to construct a telescope so powerful, it could actually bend light around the curvature of the universe. :-k
January 24, 200917 yr I'm probably going to do my physics dissertation on the shape of the Universe, whether or not it's open or closed etc. I think at the moment the evidence points towards it being infinitely flat, and not spherical or closed. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
