In my line of work, I need to be able to concentrate, I am dyslexic, so it takes more effort for me to do my job, when you add someone whistling... out of tune, I get distracted and keep having to restart all over again.

 

 

 

Its at the point now, where I leave the shop floor and go into my office if someone if whistling, then I go back to work when they are gone.

Calm down there, where was the need for the attitude?

 

If something gets counted wrong, it has to be redone the next day, we are hounded by managers to get it right the first time, so asking someone not to whistle around me is hardly asking too much of them.

 

 

 

And like I said, I walk away from them when I am able to.

However, you have no stated that you ask that they stop, because you cannot concentrate.

I don't refuse to do my job, if they don't stop... and to be honest I know I am not able to get everyone to stop.. those that work there know not to whistle around me (as I have asked them not to if I am counting), I am not going to tell a customer to stop, so I walk away UNTIL they move onto a different section of the shop.

Is it that hard to say to a customer:

 

 

 

"Excuse me, could you please stop whistling as it is distracting me from my job?"

No, but that would be rude towards the customer.

 

I am never the only one on the section when i am working there, so I do not leave them with noone to help them if they need it.

Asking someone politely to stop doing something which distracts you from your job is not rude.

All depends on how they take it though.

 

 

 

And to be honest, I don't see how me leaving the shop floor for a few minutes to go into the office makes that much of a difference.

 

 

 

It achieves my desired result, in that I get away from the whistling, the customer gets to go on their merrily little way through the store shopping, and my work still gets done OK.

 

 

 

It's not like I sit there doing nothing, there is always bits and pieces needing to be done in the office that I can do until I go back out.

I would probably consider asking someone to stop doing something as trivial as whistling to be rude. Well, rude isn't the right word but I just don't think it would be right. It would probably embarrass them or make them think you're just being an [wagon].

Replacing the two thinnest guitar strings. Took me like 10 minutes to put those [bleep]es on. -.- Every other string I had no problem.

 

 

 

Also, I cut a guitar string wrong once and it was too short to be put on after that.. And I didn't have any replacements. #-o Pretty much stringing guitars through the body annoy me in general. Stringing through bridge > Stringing through body.
