Jenove
this is my 2nd try at making a avatar gif. Epic fail. Please rate and tell me what you think. [/url] Made using paint -.- der has to be faster way of making gifs then endlessly closing and opening paint and saving and resaving -.- if anyone knows good gif animation proggy that eliminates this a thousand thank you's to you. Rep Plz :D - i ask because mt previous one had over 200+ frames ***burnout*** Also not mine but I hope I get this good one day
vulcant
if by proggy you mean program, then flash is that proggy. its custom made i guess for animation. it has a timeline, its own code, and tons of other features. making that in flash would take me like 5 minutes maybe shorter for creation/upload. get flash :D Doesn't play runescapes anymore
Nadril
That has 6 frames, how is that even remotely tedious?

Ouchy
If you make over 200 Frames in Paint then you are stupid. I've heard GIMP can do stuff like that, but I don't use it so I wouldn't know. Wait for Shiny or Pat, or someone else to back me up. My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages. Nadril
I'm sure GIMP has some open source way of animation. You can do it in Illustrator as well, but that is with photoshop and either costs money or needs to be pirated.
Braindead
Photoshop isn't anything I'd suggest for animations. From personal experience, flash is better.. Cooking cape achived 25.06.2008 19:
Jopie211
That has 6 really simple frames, how is that even remotely tedious? My thoughts exactly. And mine. I'd also recommend looking into Flash if you're seriously interested in animating, Gimp and Photoshop have some decent options for animations, but they won't get you terribly far. I'm sure you could find some open source/completely free alternatives to Flash too though. pixel avvy by me deviantART

i_love_burritos
To make animated GIFS you should try Graphics Gale, its free. EDIT: Woops, sorry. Didn't see that. for some advice, can some one point me in the right direction to make animated gifs from sprite sheets ?
Ouchy
To make animated GIFS you should try Graphics Gale, its free. That has already been suggested :x Although I do support what you are saying, it is a great free program. mister_moocky
I use a really simple program called Jasc Animation shop 3 for making animated GIFs, it's not good at all good for actually making the frames (about the same as paint, but it supports transparency), but it's as easy as copy -> paste as new frame to animate something made using a different program. And its file compression is really customizable. I don't think I kept the URL for the safe torrent I used but I'll see if I can find it. Edit: I've got the address, but I'm not sure of Tip.it's stance on this, could someone clarify? quit
Star.
Edit: I've got the address, but I'm not sure of Tip.it's stance on this, could someone clarify? I don't think it's allowed, better ask a mod. But can you pm that link to me please? Edit: Whoops, didn't know... Don't pm me then : ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢ CAUTION ☢
pryomancer
Jasc is a programme you pay for, right? Then it's illegal to download it for free via torrents, please do not post the link nor pm people with it.
ArcanistsMan
There is a program called PhotoScape that has a GIF animator, but it's just a pretty basic put-pics-in-a-timeline-and-choose-interval software. I tried it a couple times, but then I got Photoshop. Forgot the link though. He rolls backwards?Does that mean he rolls up a hill? That's pretty win.
