Is this game worth playing anymore?

Featured Replies

In my opinion, the game is slightly better now than it has ever been.

Nothing compared to what it used to be. I still play, but in my opinion RS has seen it's best days already..

Runescape is at its best and getting better.

I have no intrest in helping "keyers" farm xp.

People will always see the old Runescape (before HD, summoning, even hunter) as the best. Even I want those tacky woodcutting and mining animations back, along with the awesomely unrealistic running animation. But the truth is if we actually went back to those times we'd be like "Wow. I'm bored." In my opinion Runescape is constantly getting better, and unless Jagex makes a monumental mistake (fighting RWT was not a mistake), then the game that we all love will keep getting better and better.

So for me, yes, this game is still worth playing.

If you don't think so then quit.

LOL. This could take a while.

game stopped being fun when Jagex started aggressively fighting RWT

That was the moment when things got interesting.

I bet he was playing. I've been playing since '04 and his total is much higher than mine.

skill total was never a symbol of how long you've been playing. you probably have higher than me and ive been playing a couple years before you

Yes, it is.

Didn't you bug abuse, then gloat and say you didn't care about getting banned because youre quitting anyway?

Anyway, yes it is, its still fun.

I never said I was quitting runescape, just Musky44.

It's still fun for me, and the µ glitch made it more fun.

No, macroers kept us normal players skilling profitably and doing what we enjoy. Most people didn't realize that they were actually the wheels turning the game. When they were taken out, that's when the extreme whining began :x .

Although macroers were wrong in what they did, they really weren't so bad as we all thought :? .

Oh cmon, nearly everybody states their opinion as if it's fact. IMHO the game has never ever been better, especially because of additions such as Summoning, HD and the new leadership and philosophy.

Depends if you still enjoy the activities or skills in the game.

to me, no it's not worth playing anymore. too repetitive, i've owned everything pretty much, got 99 in skills i enjoy, phats, armors, weapons, killed thousands of the same boss monsters to get nearly every drop besides corp, outplayed minigames, what more could i do other than lvl skills i hate? keep killing the same bosses, get 200m in a skill, slay the same loop of monsters over and over, make more money that i don't need, etc etc

the game has been played out for me, if you still enjoy to do this stuff then play until you're sick of it and move on

What?

I don't know if it's getting better- that's a matter of opinion. It is getting bigger, but it always has been.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system.

Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased.

The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."

The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? Worldwide thermonuclear war? Pie eating contest?

It's always good to pass the time if you are bored, until you get bored playing that is ;)

It's tough at the top ;)

The title of the thread is 'is this game worth playing anymore?' of course its going to be full of opinions, you can't factually say 'yes or no'.

Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.

it still worth playing imo :P

As a player who's been around since 2001, it is of my opinion that the game has never been better.

To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Yes.

Is it really needed to have so many threads of people just whining about how "stuff's DIFFERENT!!!!!11!1!!"?

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

I quit last week, am playing WoW now. :)

Another "i don't play this game" person who still posts on a runescape fan site.

The game is well worth playing. Lots of new things to do, and less bots! What more can you ask for?

The WoW fansites are all nub.

I never liked the combat system of RS2, and never played that version actively (only leveled to 108 on RSC). In classic you can't escape for three rounds, in RS2 it's just sloppy and weird. If it was more like the combat system of Diablo I'd be all over this game again in my spare time. Now it seems they want to orient more & more to kids under 14 judging by the storylines and quests they come up with.

Not to mention the 'hilarity factor'... Old players can't forget the witty 'examine' humor Andrew and Paul put on various objects. Now the 'funny' parts of RS consist of supposedly funny creature names or cities, which aren't really funny at all.

Guess you could say they "sold out", instead of providing the best game possible, they switched to providing the shareholders at Jagex the best return on investment possible. The focus switched from user experience to maximum profit and the game got a bit lame for some (not all) older players
