Bad to hear about this. :( I found out not too long ago that I am only 4 steps away from one of the people who died in the Kauhajoki attack, never heard of that person before though.

 

 

 

Saw in the newspaper lately (The day after the massacre in Germany, as it happens) that Finland's proposed gun license restrictions are as follows:

 

Police background check (As it was before)

 

Have to have a reason (Hunting, signaling, bodyguard etc.)

 

Age: 20 or over

 

Must have been in a shooting club for at least two years.

The gunman targeted one classroom in particular. He kept on returning to D208 in the building (I think? Check BBC article for details) and asked 'Are you all dead yet?'. It just so happened that most of the students in there were female.

 

 

 

I think it was more a teacher hatred then a sexist attack.
