If alcohol is legal then marijuana should be too. We should base legalization on the dangerousness of the drug - alcohol, caffeine, nicotine, cannabis, and maybe even mushrooms and LSD should be legal but cocaine, heroin, ecstasy, meth, etc. should still remain illegal.

If you're talking about cannabis, there's almost no way to die as a direct result of using it. I think it's something like 4 kilo's of marijuana is a fatal dosage, and if you can smoke/ingest/whatever that much then I'd be surprised. Not sure if that's right though I found it on a site a while ago and I have no idea what site it was so who knows.

You'll be getting it from your friendly neighborhood Walgreens. And they will add all the [cabbage] they can find to mess it up.

Anyways, I think it should be legal to 21 and older but there should be a restriction on the amount you can have on you at a time ( there are laws like this in some places, I'm not sure exactly what they are though) and if there's a certain level of THC in your blood and you're pulled over while driving it should be considered DUI and should be treated as such.

 

 

 

Basically, alcohol with a little more control.

What I mean is completely out of it. Unable to focus, worse hand-eye coordination, saying things that are completely irrelevant (after a few months of this, these traits stay even when they're not high).

I'm pretty sure marijuana is about as addictive as caffeine... I don't think many people are addicted to it. Maybe slightly dependent, but I'd say full blown addiction is pretty rare. Not that I'd really know from first hand sources, I don't know many people who smoke, since the ones that are smart don't go around yelling about it and the ones that do that were idiots to begin with :lol:

Well, people don't buy cigarettes or beer off of dealers, do they (is there even such a thing as an illegal beer dealer?)? A lot of it's in bars, or just stores. If it was legalized, cigarette companies would jump on it like nobody's business.

During the prohibition (when beer was illegal) there most certainly was underground trading. I can see pot being sold in stores possible, but what I can't believe is that this would mean the end of all street dealers. The only way that would happen is if they didn't have access to the drugs or if customers didn't want to buy anymore (stores selling for cheaper).

Yeah, and not everyone who smokes cigarettes dies of lung cancer. It's still bad for you.

I can definitely foresee the cig companies putting the same crap they use in cigs to make marijuana just as bad. So while it may stop some street crime it'll be just as bad for your heath as cigarettes.
