Are the quests worth it?

Featured Replies

In my current goal of 99 construction, I find myself in constant need of funds. Runite mining only rakes in so much, and get rather dull, and solo Kree'arra is fun, but hard to turn profit with so far. I was debating Tormented demons, but, with only 239 Quest points, it would require a huge amount of time to access and complete Waiting for Guthix. I'm wondering if it would be worth it for me do about 25 quests or so to be able to fight these demons? Please, post good input, and support your reasoning.

Thank you,

PS: Anybody tried Smoke Barrage on the demons? I'd rather mage and range, instead of melee, if at all possible.

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I'd definetly do it. Remember, the rewards aren't just the ability to kill TD's. You get 400k xp (You could use it on con if you really wanted to) and part of a dragon plate, which probably still goes for well over a mil or two.

Then you have the rewards from the other ~25 quests, not to mention having all quests completed is a huge advantage on any account.

I'm not too sure if you could mage them well, try to look for a TD guide in the archive/general guides.

I just did that quest a couple days ago and sold for 3.7m.

Well, it is well worth it. I sold my slice instant on GE for 3.7 mil. Also, TDS are fun, and a good profit if you stick at them long enough. Not to mention, the Quest Cape is hot. As for maging, I wouldn't mage solo. You need the defense if you mess up, and it would be hard to get enough mage bonus+def to make it worthwhile. In a trio, I think it would be great tho, 2 ppl always hitting the td.

Anyways, I'd say that quests are always worth doing. Don't forget about all of the other rewards you'll get from completing those quests.

You'll do the quests anyway, why not now?

Pureprayer, you're awesome.

Without even having to read any of the post, just the title asking, "Are the quests worth it?"

The answer is always yes.

Do them as you get the rewards from the other quests plus increased trade limit.

Many believe that the 1980 eruption of Mt. Saint Helens was a catostrophic geological event, in reality it was the day that Jimi Hendrix returned to Earth from the next world and actually stood up next to a mountain and chopped it down with the edge of his hand.

Alright, thanks everybody for the input. I believe I will attempt to finish WGS and the pre-quests for these Demons. The question remains of magic at them, however. If I used Void, with mage and range helms, swapping rune cross and master wands, I'd have 63 magic bonus, 120 range, and 17 prayer. Does anybody believe that this could work?

So, Lone Star, now you see that evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

I got 60M off of completing WGS by selling my piece for 11.7M and having gotten 3 Dragon Claws.

Also 400,000 XP for Runecrafting, which got me 71-75.

Epic? More ways than one mate. Do it.

Edit: Don't ever, ever use Void at Tormented Demons. It's like playing Russian Roullette with 7 bullets in eight holes.

And Magic is hard if you want to combine a decent Mage/Range offence bonus while maintaining a good Mage/Range defence bonus.

Though high levels in Attack or Strength aren't really necessary.

Wearing Armdyl chest, and Ahrim's bottoms, Swapping out master wand and rune cross, I get 76 magic bonus, 144 Range, and 11 prayer. Doesn't seem to bad for me. I just really don't like melee, and I find magic much more enjoyable.

Risking much more for a more expensive method seems a bit illogical, but you still need melee to take down it's Fireshield.

Oh, and you used to be able to cast spells with Darklight, and his shield will drop. :(
