bedman
so can you still trap the northern demon and kill the north western one? Oh yeah, one thing to make it perfect: bring a super energy in the empty spot you have there. You drink it and drop it anyway. Everybody hates walking. :-) However, with the run update, you might be able to get there with full energy. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h! Normal energy now restores as much as super did, so a normal one would probably do. A nice idea that is. The_Great_One
Edited my advice on AoD grave so that it's now 6-minutes. Aren't I quick? :D It'd be cool if TDs were a slayer task. Would be hitting 50s galore. On a mostly unrelated note, I bet abby demons are gonna be even more crowded.... But getting 90 slayer yestyday is all the more sweeter.... And I notice my post at the top of this page got edited. bedman
Just a few suggestions from my experience at my last trip: I'd like to suggest d'hide as a very good alternative for karil, especially when you have a unicorn. First, it's cheap Second, it has the same ranged bonus as karil (some people don't get this and use karil in safe spots) Third, it's magic def isn't that worse and you get better melee def in place. With a unicorn i survive just fine on d'hide. all in all, I dont find the 1M+ risk of karil's justified, even though you can get back in time for your grave. I do just fine with d'hide and unicorn. Also, a skillcape is a very good alternative for the accumulator if you are using broad bolts. I mostly can pick up most anyway, and even if I can't, it's only 500gp. I'm not sure wether the +4 prayer will make up for it, but i like it nonetheless. A Guide to Chinning in Ape atoll: up to 325kxp/h!
draikan0
I have been killing these for months, and thought I should give some input as I have been watching forums about these for a long time. I think I have a very efective method and inventory worked out. I would also like to say that most of the information in this guide is extremely accurate, and does match with what I have learned from experience. -first it is important to note that more complicated methods are generally less effective due to the increase in mistakes. This is a big factor in fighting tormented demons. -While the whip may technically do better damage, it is harder to switch to, uses more supplies, and is harder to prayer flash with. For these reasons I would choose a godsword over the whip every single time, as its ease of use makes my kills far easier and faster. The godsword is better than a whip, period. Not to mention it has kick [wagon] specs. -Void is effective, but it is very difficult to switch into. you will also take more damage with void. this is negligible if a unicorn is enough, but it is something to consider. also, if you die with void and don't get it back, you willl cry. -crossbow is best, and you dont need a shield or prayer book or anything else to make it effective. ruby bolts are best for the first half, diamond is best for the second. broad bolts are very good as well, but the other two option are far better. -you should use two ranged potions for each super set, this speeds up kills tremendously. It is totally worth the loss of one space. -you should always use a defender with darklight. always. you only have to switch to it a couple times per kill and it makes a huge difference. I would say that my darklight hits are more than twice as accurate with the defender. This is because the defender's attack bonus is a large fraction of the darklights attack bonus. -i only stay for one super set each trip, banking is fast and this allows for more efficient trips, as well as safer and more relaxing fights. -finally I would like to clear up a misconception that always bothers me. The titan does not heal more health than a bunyip. bunyip heals 8 per minute. titan does 3 scrolls per bar, a bar takes 3 minutes to recharge. so one scroll per minute, this equals 8 hp per minute the same as a bunyip. if you brew before potting up, the defence boost doesnt help either. also it is expensive to use scrolls, not to mention they are a hassle. I find bunyip to be much easier to use than a titan, though you may need an extra pouch since they dont last as long. I hope all this information helps. and so you know, I'm lvl 129 and I get about 16 kills per hour. each trip costs me less than 150k including scrolls, bolts, and p pots. Lets_3ekout
-finally I would like to clear up a misconception that always bothers me. I find bunyip to be much easier to use than a titan, though you may need an extra pouch since they dont last as long. You give an interesting point about the rune defender, but I have to disagree here. While they may have the same hp/min the titan has three large factors going for it over bunyip here. 1. Titan can heal over your max hp. Not much of a big deal compared to 2 & 3. 2. The titan regenerates it's spec bar while you are at max hp. The bunyip doesn't do squat if you're at max hp. We can all agree that spec bar = hp, so the titan technically recovers hp while you are at full hp, preparing you for emergencies. 3. At tormented demons, damage often comes in one or two large hits followed by fairly long strings of zeros (depending on your prayer switching ability). When it comes to inconsistant damage, titans and unicorns are superior since you can rapidly use 3 scrolls and have healed either 24 or 42 hp, assuming maxed hp level. 2hp/15secs isn't going to do you much good if you are at 40hp. Although you have a long string of 0 hits to heal over, I certainly don't feel comfortable at that hp with only a bunyip slowly ticking my hp up. Also on another thing you mentioned, while godswords might rip apart whips here, d hallys own godswords. I suppose that's a matter of opinion though. draikan0
true, but its generally not a problem for me, and as I said being comfortable with it is also very important. your skill with a certain setup is a large factor in how fast your kills are. also a high magic level helps a ton with their special attacks, since it isnt always possible to pray against them. in my experience the halberd allows for more kills per trip, but the kills are slower. I can admit that using the godsword is more dangerous. but i think its worth while. are you using void or prayer flashing while you hally? because these would make a large difference. To clarify my earlier post, I only use super sets and karil, I dont use void or offensive prayers. and I'm curious how many kills per hour you guys are getting =p
The_Great_One
2 range potions per super set simply won't fit. If you are bringing only 1 super set, banking does still slow you down a bit, by like 2-3 kills or so. But if you have a unicorn, you would be throwing away a large benefit of it. The godsword is superior to hally. It deals faster and higher damage, and if you are fighting these right there won't be interruptions to your attack flow. This means godsword is EASILY superior. The extra supplies and danger are very negligible. Scrolls recharge at a rate of 1 per 2 seconds. That's 30 per minute, and 60 per 2 minutes. That equals 12 hp per minute for titans, and 21 per minute for unicorns. If it were 1 per 3 seconds, that would only be 14 hp per minute, which is clearly wrong. But, both titans AND bunyips suck for solo. The hp simply is not fast enough. A BoB is much better, and food is cheaper than using titan scrolls if you are using monks, and equate to roughly the same price if you are using sharks, and by that I mean how many scrolls you need to reach the healing of these foods. As for complicatedness of spots, the NE spot is pretty simple, the NW not so good, which is why I decided to swap them around so the NE spot info came first in the guide. I imagine you use the NE spot, it owns. And yes, void is difficult to switch into and frequently will you click to equip it and it fails to equip, which is not only frustrating but really slows you down. It rocks for teams though, as you don't need to switch it. Bolts, yes ruby + diamond is the best, but if you are using healing familiar it can be difficult to manage. I don't use rubies even if I could afford the damage though, because I always forget to switch them during the fight. That's just my personal problem of course though. Thanks for your input. Your info about scrolls was a bit whack, but thanks nonetheless :D Although, I am kind of repeating things I've already mentioned. draikan0
go test it in game, its 14 hp per minute. thats 1 full bar every three minutes. 14 hp per minute is nearly double what a bunyip gives, sounds balanced to me. (When i get home today im going to time this again just to be sure, unfortunately the kb doesnt say anything about it) im curious if you have tried two ranges per super set? I think you may find its worth the tradeoff. and as i stated, I find that banking more often is worth the flexibility it gives my inventory, i did not say thats what you should be doing. your feelings about gs are correct and they match my own =p it owns here I have tried all the spots and the NE spot is by far the easiest, safest, and fastest. my unicorn has always been enough to keep up with the rubies, but like i said staying for one super set alows my inventory more flexibility. this also lets me use ags specs instead of sgs specs, which further speeds my kills. before I had 88 summoning I killed these using a bunyip as my only source of health, with a few pieces of food for emergencies, and it worked great. The_Great_One
I just tested it, and scrolls recharge at a rate of 1 per 2 seconds. It's a well known fact; ask Inuashakent and he'll tell you. ghjkl
The healing is only 21 hp per minute at max efficiency. Few people know this, but if the scroll recharge is only part finished, and you use a scroll, then you dont get the recharge until 30 seconds later. For example, there are 5 seconds until your next 15 special points, but you use a scroll. YOu have to wait another 30 seconds to get another recharge. So for max efficiency, you should use all 3 specs at once unless you really need the healing. ( I use yak cuz im ftw, but just for the pony people.)
