Pokemon RBY: The Real Pokemon Games

Featured Replies

Actually I have to say that DPP has done the second hugest change to pokemon so far.

Only after GSC with its special split, DPP did a type split.

Now a type can be physical and special, not just both.

Dark used to be special based, but every attack in DPP except the new dark pulse is physical.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I'd also have to say I liked GSC when you could buy unlimited amounts of GOOD TMs from the department store. None of the ones you buy in RBY are really any good, but all the good ones like Thunderbolt and Earthquake you can get in the DSC department store, if I remember correctly.

I used to love my old copy of Blue... But then I misplaced it. Ironically, I always took the Charmander. I still have functional copies of Gold/Silver/Crystal, but they don't have the same feel as Blue. I do like the 16 gyms thing, though. I really liked taking Totodile because I was in a phase where it was all about the water types. I have Fire Red and Emerald, but I rarely play them anymore. Not since I put in a combined 160 hours on them. I took Torchic and Charmander, and haven't started over yet. But I do love them running shoes. I also have Diamon and Pearl. The thing I like about it is the multi-gear bike. You don't have to run back and trade it for the one you need every 20 minutes. I took Turtwig and Piplup. Turtles and Penguins are two of my favourite animals.

Yea, they're immune. Roost removes that immunity, so ground can harm them. And yup, Roost is a ripoff of recovery, further proving quantity=/=quality.

Seems pointless to remove the immunity for the 1 turn, more so if you are playing against a human.

Oh look! He's using a flying type. I'll use earthquake!

But earthquake isn't exclusive to ground types. Like Tauros can learn it, and it can also learn thunder. That'll dominate the legendary birds.

It takes away the super effectiveness of rock, and electric aswell.

Recover just heals, whereas a little thing called Roost heals and takes 2 weaknesses away for a while.

Now thats just overpowered, and stupid.

I agree

Its not really stupid. It can give some problems too..

But its kinda a load of crap how flying types only get a move like this.

Alot of pokemon can therefore get it.

Marowak in GSC was the best pokemon out.

Since Marowak had an over average attack in GSC in the first place, and he still has the highest attack in the game with his Thick Club.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Yeah RBY were good. I like GSC more though.

The only real problems in RBY were Psychic Pokés (overpowered) and stupid sprites:

Spr_1y_019.png it's eyes... terrible!

Spr_1b_025.png that's one fat Pikachu. also, mini-arms looks stupid. the tail is a bit odd too... compare it to this: Spr_1y_025.png

That's why yellow is the best of the 3, they actually look ok in yellow.

But what's the point? The only type that ground beats is electric so it's not like it's very useful to have unless you're fighting another electric type.

I didn't care for the graphics, I mean, one the main arguements agianst pokemon games IS the graphics. :|

Don't you know the first rule of MMO's? Anyone higher level than you has no life, and anyone lower than you is a noob.

People in OT eat glass when they are bored.

Runescape too :P

Pokemon is really good for gameboy though, tbh.

When I saw the graphics for DPP, I instantly hated them. They were designed to appeal more the little kids than the others.

And rock.

Earthquake also has A LOT of normal effectivity moves, unlike other types.

Bug is so underestimated (TYPE), I mean, Yanmega and Ninjask arent but the others are. Some can do alot.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Nintendo [bleep]ed the Pokemon games after the 4th generation.

As far as I can remember me playing Pokemon, Emerald powned all the games, with ease.

After seeing the names of the 4th gen pokemon I thought, it's time to move on.

Sometimes I see pokemon on the tv and I think, oh the good times.

99 Magic; achieved on 4-4-2009.

85 Slayer; achieved on 6-8-2009.

99 Defence; achieved on 14-8-2009.

99 Constitution; achieved on 12-3-2013.

99 Attack; achieved on 12-5-2013.

99 Slayer; achieved on 21-6-2013.

I came, I saw, I ran away.

My favorite Pokémon game would be one like the Game Boy Color ones (Gold, Silver & Crystal) with Wi-Fi support (like in Diamond, Pearl & Platinum). 8-bit graphics and sounds of course :)

The games are developed by Game Freak. Nintendo only publishes them. The TV series are made by another company.

Yeah, I beat pokemon blue back in the day. Caught missingno too! I've played a few of the new ones and they really haven't introduced any new gameplay mechanics. Shame.
