dragon246665
Okay so I'm not sure if this should go in OT or questionnaires but here it goes. Out of all the games you've ever played, which one do you find the scariest? Personally I think bioshock in the most horrific game I've ever played, followed closly by dead space. Your thoughts? Nenga
There is a nice sub forum in off topic called video games and consoles. That being said I think this would be a duplicate of the "scariest game scenes" thread it seems to cover the same idea. Ponies!
Randox
I don't remember the game, but a few years back a friend had one. I think it was some resident evil game. Anyways things kept coming out of nowhere and scaring the [bleep] out of me. I think I managed about 20 minutes of feeling like a squirrel playing that game, which was about 15 inutes more than my friend ever managed (well, eventualy he got older and probably played it). There are a few levels from 'enter the matrix' that scare me. One was some guy crashing through a wall. Totaly unexpected. I thought I was going to have a heart attack (I was probably about 14  ). And then the agent smith levels were not so much scary, but really stressful. I hated playing those levels because its like subjectign yourself willingly to having anxiety attacks. I'm not so scared of any of that any more nor do I own any scary games Another anxious gaming moment would be Rainbow six 3. Especial online. Once, me and a friend were playign in a large game. He had a P90 and red phosphorus grenade launcher. I had an M4 assult rifle and magnum (no thats not really important info). Anyways someone set off a breaching charge when I was almost at a door. Scared the [bleep]ing bejeasus right out of me. When insued was a 3 minute high intesity firefight.

scootlaboot
The closest things to a scary game, that I have played, were Bioshock and Resident evil 5. RE5 really had a couple of Oh crap wtf moments, and since 4, resident evil is more actiony than survival Horrorly. If you choose your beliefs/lifestyle simply based on what your parents want, then you are a weak minded individual and are not even worthy of calling yourself a person. RichieMcD
In terms of BOO scares: Condemned In terms of Atmosphere: Condemned In terms of suspense: Condemned In terms of enemy design: Condemned Only game I've ever turned off due to actually being scared of it, best horror style game I've ever played. I've been more scared of a lot of levels and scenarios in this game than I have ever been of most "horror" movies, the amount of suspense and tense atmosphere it builds is unreal. Alg
I'd vote BioShock. Only scary game I own  . The whole 'destroyed underwater dystopia with insane mutant' thing. I painted some stuff and put it on tumblr
Nadril
System Shock 2 or Dead Space, pretty close. System Shock 2 was pretty goddamn creepy but it's an older game too. Dead Space just nailed the atmosphere though.

He means that getting startled is scary to him, and he groups them together. Same with me. I couldn't even play the bioshock demo because I was scared of being startled, luckily fallout was more ugliness and less "OMFG GHOUL IN MY FACE!" There were a few good creepy parts (the part where you see all the frozen people as an ice sculpture, the crazed doctor guy) but overall I didn't find the game very scary. I definitely agree with you on that, as a whole the game isn't that scary because once you get about half-way through Neptunes Bounty you're basically sitting on top of a pile of weapons, ammo, plasmids, etc. I think what maked Bioshock scary isn't the scares themselves, but the anticipation. And if that doesn't do it for you, there's also plenty of startle moments. Get back here so I can rub your butt.
