August 23, 200520 yr From ozzfest.com "Ozzfest.com Iron Maiden were chosen for the Ozzfest tour because the Ozzfest committee felt they were a good band, plus the fact that they had not done shows in the U.S. for some time. From day one, Bruce [bleep]inson started berating Ozzy and belittling the Ozzfest audience. He stated he"didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t need a reality show to give him credibility"; "we're not just some f*cking reunion band"; and continuously complained about the sound system, saying that when he comes back to America he̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ll have a better one. I understand he hasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t toured in the U.S.in these size venues in a while and no longer understands the political structure of things. Out of 200-plus bands over the last 10 years, he has been the only person who hasn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t had the Ozzfest spirit. He thought he was at a battle of the bands, always making other comments about the other artists. Might I say, the rest of the band are gentlemen and have a great professional attitude. The crew are absolutely great. But how sad it was, after 10 years, that this little man tried to ruin it for everyone. The bands of Ozzfest don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t even look at Ozzfest as touring, but as its heavy metal summer camp. Bruce is in fact a jealous [puncture] and very envious. None of his tirades were directed at Sabbath, only Ozzy. Steve Harris [iron Maiden's bassist] personally came to Ozzy in San Bernardino and apologized for Bruce̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s behavior this summer, stating that he and the rest of the band were "embarrassed" by their own singer. It also offended me every night how he took out the English flag in America. There are American boys going to war alongside the English boys every day. How dare he forget the American troops on their home turf. He has had no respect for the American audience he has been playing for, stating in an interview, "When you do the 'hits' tour here [in the U.S.], the audience is smug, and there's a sense of self-satisfaction, like, 'We got what we wanted̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâæI'm looking at an audience that is self-satisfied and happy and fat, and getting what it wants and isn't prepared to get off its [wagon].." Before there was Samson there was SABBATH! Ozzfest 2005 continues on with our summer of fun with the addition of Velvet Revolver. This is where the fun begins̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ" From "blabbermouth.net" "The manager of a well-known heavy metal band who attended this past weekend's Ozzfest show at the Hyundai Pavillion in Devore, California has submitted the following first-hand account of the evening that will surely go down as one of the most shameful moments in recent rock history (NOTE: at his request, the author's identity is being protected by BLABBERMOUTH.NET): "Saturday night's Ozzfest at the Hyundai Pavillion near Los Angeles was a debacle on so many levels, I am still in shock as I write this. As a fan of many of the bands [saturday] night, one can only hope this was an isolated incident, but sadly, it most likely wasn't. As many of you have heard already, co-headliners and metal legends IRON MAIDEN were pelted with eggs, bottle caps, beer cups, spit on, had people from the Ozzfest camp talking over the PA during their set, had 'Eddie' delayed from his onstage entrance, had members of the [bLACK LABEL SOCIETY] entourage rush the stage with American flags, and had the PA intentionally turned off over 6 times, all by the OSBOURNE CAMP. "While it's still unclear as to the exact reasons why the terrorizing started (rumors abounded as to why, with everything from Bruce calling out Ozzy in the U.K. rock magazine Kerrang! on the widely known fact that Ozzy uses a teleprompter, to various vague references said on stage about a 'reality show' at an Ozzfest stop in Detroit), one thing was very clear: The whole thing stunk, and left me, and nearly all of the 40,000+ heavy metal fans in attendance angered and disappointed. Not that behind the scenes bickering or magazine trash talking is anything new to rock fans, but the shocking lack of professionalism at one of the largest stops in North America in front of 40,000 + spectators, at the hand of the Osbournes was nothing short of disgusting. "It all began early in the afternoon, when many side stage bands were openly approached in clear view of everyone backstage by Sharon and Kelly Osbourne to 'join them in throwing eggs at IRON MAIDEN this evening.' All the bands were encouraged to rally the other side stage bands to do so. Members and/or friends of the hardcore band BURY YOUR DEAD were seen actively trying to encourage other side stage bands to 'join in the fun.' Thankfully, many side stage bands angrily declined. "Later that evening, as IRON MAIDEN came on stage, their intro was interrupted by [bLACK LABEL SOCIETY] hanger-on and biker wannabe Big Dave, who was at the soundboard loudly chanting 'Ozzy, Ozzy' over the PA. MAIDEN opened their set and the entire band was pelted from the front row with eggs, beer, beer cups, spit, and various other objects by an Ozzfest-credentialed, bandana-wearing, Osbourne entourage. IRON MAIDEN, ever the professionals, continued through their set, and by the time they launched into their second song, 'The Trooper', Bruce changed into a civil war-era, red coat and began waving a Union Jack ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ã
August 23, 200520 yr Yeah i read that yesterday, not sure what to make of it really. Putting a petty personal feud above the fans who paid money to see a band they love is just disgusting. The Osbournes should count themselves lucky they didn't have 40000 people tearing the place apart after that. Kirk and Lars I could handle. At the same time.
August 23, 200520 yr I had no idea about this until I read it just now. This seriously pisses me off. I'm not a huge Maiden fan, but after reading that I must say I have ALOT of respect for Iron Maiden. I allways hated ozzy, he's nothing but a crackhead anymore. Gah, [bleep] the osbournes.
August 23, 200520 yr Yeah I saw this a few days ago, I was kind of shocked. First thing I thought of after I heard about it was something Bruce said a while ago, to the effect of "I don't like playing shows in America, the crowds are terrible."
August 23, 200520 yr Can I get shortened version please? :o Read it fastly trought so I may have missed some points but what the Sharon Osbourne do? Wasn't she just saying something good of Iron Maiden after they left the stage. Isin't the crowd thats offically disgrace to the metal world? Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.
August 23, 200520 yr It's sad to see any band mistreated by there fans but I don't think Ozzy is crap just because this happens. Although neither of the artists are my favourite Ozzy is still higher on my list than Maiden.
August 23, 200520 yr Damn you Azvy, I was gonna make a post about this as soon as I got online :x But back to the point - How old are these people, 13? What a bunch of immature bastards the Ozzfest crew was  . Bruce shouldn't have been running his mouth like that, but that doesn't give those fools leeway in [bleep]ing with their set. Jesus Christ :| Let's make babies!
August 23, 200520 yr Author Hulk12: if Ozzy condoned the thing that happened, then he's a tool, there's no denying that. But since I don't think he did... I don't think any less of him than I previously did. Chocobot: I know, and the thing is, even members from other metal bands (such as Black Label Societ etc.) helped the rest to ruin the show. That's what disturbs me the most. These people are supposed to be professionals, and they have millions of people who look up to them - and they start acting like they never finished kindergarden. And what do you mean by running his mouth? If you're referring to the thing that was posted on the ozzfest.com site, then I would take that with a grain of salt, as Sharon undoubtedly had a finger or two in what was written there. // Azvi.
August 23, 200520 yr What I'm saying is, even if Bruce was saying such things, it's no reason to go pelt eggs and act like a jerkoff to not only the band, but the fans wanting to see them perform aswell. Let's make babies!
August 23, 200520 yr Wow... They should have thought that maybe they would ruin the show for the fans before they did that stuff. I'm surprised those fans didn't start a riot and rip that place apart... I know I'd be pretty mad if I paid good money to see a show and it ended up like that... Really, I'm astonished. I've gained some new respect for Iron Maiden though... They had the right attitude... Shame on those guys ruining the show for their fans. And I agree. Ozzfest is most likely ruined now...
August 24, 200520 yr I cant believe i thought of spending the $100+ for a ticket to see Ozzfest (would have gone for maiden only). I'll never spend a dime on anything connected to Sharon or Black Label Society from this day forth. The nerve to insult and treat Maiden and Bruce that way, its unforgiveable. They (maiden) have more talent and credibility than ANY of those ozzfest bands. They never should have went on that tour in the first place. Its a real shame they got treated that way. I can only hope that it will spark Maiden fest here in the USA, where they can tour with full 2 hour or more sets and none of this 1 hour garbage. Though when i read that concert review, there isnt anything i wouldnt give up to have been there to witness it. I'm sure Maiden put on one hell of a show. I can only hope someone got it on audio (or video) and puts it up on the net somewhere. About Ozzy, i'm sure he is so druged up he doesnt have a clue whats going on. He's really just a puppet for the rest of those gold diggers. A person in his condition shouldnt be on a television show or even out touring. But you know if theres $$$ to made Sharon will do it. And whats this flag deal? I mean who really cares if hes waving the union jack. Its tradition when they perform that song that Bruce goes around with that flag, hes done it over 20+ years now. If i'm not mistaken, the lyrical content even deals with a british war/battle? Ozzy and Sharon are british arent they? Iommi, Ward, Butler, and even the whole Maiden crew is all british arent they? So whats the big deal here? I can only imagine some fake patriotism on the part of Sharon or perhaps something to do with Sharon and Co having the US Army recruiters at Ozzfest. Maybe she gets a bonus if they sign up X amount of people  (its probably true $$$ :?)
August 24, 200520 yr Somehow this doesn't surprise me at all, just look at the development of Ozzfest over the years and the way Sharon has been behaving in general. There's a really funny movie about it on Newgrounds, but I doubt the name of the series will get through the language filter here. Just my general impression of the Osbournes has always had me believe this was wall within their nature.
August 24, 200520 yr I think i prefered her in the ASDA adverts :P "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
August 24, 200520 yr I think i prefered her in the ASDA adverts :P Here's ASDA mum in a million: Debbie Pritchard! It's like This Is Your Life! This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you.
August 25, 200520 yr anyone know where i can get a clip of this? i just looked and found three mp3 sound files (2 bruce and 1 sharon) from that ozzfest on the iron maiden forum. their all about 1 minute long. pm me if you want a direct link to the thread as i'm not sure if i can post that or not :?
