uber_n00blet
Well, this hurricane is predicted to be a category 5 when it makes landfall. People are also predicting that this hurricane will slam into New Orleans and possibly destory the city. There are still a ton of people in New orleans (including some of my relatives) who are taking shelter. It is said that about 30 feet of water might cover the city. This is a very sad situation. :( What are your thoughts?

Evil_Elf
edit: too tasteless. Best of luck to anyone who happens to be there. Really though, its too bad this is happening, a bunch of people just can't get out of there, and I think it'll be amazing if less than 100 people die. Aldeon
Yea it florida as little categor 1 (85 mph)/tropical storm. Its about to hit new orleans which is already saturated as a category 5! 180mph winds, 210mph gusts! Its then heading to where i live. It will only be about a category 2 or 1. But my state as already been hit hard. In 2000 where i live was wiped out by floyd (NC) We got hit by dennis TWICE then a week later came floyd (category 4-5) Flooded countless cities. The way my house and neighboorhood is sloped my house didnt get flooded but a few houses down the street did. And it tarboro it flooded up to the roof
weezcake
I saw the news, and was like  when I saw that the winds were 180+ MPH.. Good luck to all people that live in the area. I hope for your safety. ==================================Retired tip.it moderator.Teaching and inspiring.
homer806
last time i checked there were still about 100,000 people in New Orleans, a city that is BELOW sea level. And it was predicted that are to be 20ft storm surges, which will go aver all their sea walls. if i were them, i would be long gone. a ton of people packed into the stadium, i guess thats as good a place as any to be. good luck to those who chose to stay. homer806
i had to laugh, even though i shouldn't. The winds of a catogory 5 a supposed to destroy all wooden structures. and that flooding is going to make New Orleans either a lake or a floating city. :(
Silver_Dragon
Meh, it's probably going to heavily affect where I live...A lil bit west of Atlanta, GA. Forecasters say we're gonna get hit by the 'bad side' of it. I don't care much though, it's almost always hot and dry where I live. Need a bit of excitement here  Just as long as it doesn't affect my weekends

Faux
That's sad. So many idiots were posting in my clan boards about how "WOOHOO WE HAVE NO SCHOOL!" without thinking about what the storm can actually do. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::

Adam007
Most recent news is that it destroyed part of the Superdome's roof, it weakened to a level 3 now, and it's estimated to cost $25 billion in destruction.

Evil_Elf
Looks like New Orleans got lucky, considering what could've happened. I mean, its still realllly bad, but at least its not completely drowned.
