Im hoping for it to be good. from what i've seen it might just be.

I remember talks of a DOOM movie in '94 or so. It's one of those things that you think would never happen. I'm not confident about this.

To be honest, I'm still not convinced that this movie will be in any way worthy of the name. The first-person thing looks nifty, but I think it's little more than a gimmick. The only reason it works so well in videogames is because it lets you control the action. A movie just can't do that. The special effects are nice, but a movie will need to do a lot more than just look pretty *cough*newstarwarsmovies*cough*. Still, that one shot with the chainsaw at the end shows that there might be hope yet...

I liked the pretty new starwars better than episode 1 and 2 :o

I'm definately going the first night (or, assuming it comes out on Tuesday, I'll go the Friday). For one, it looks awesome. Two, I really like the games...They have a really good story. I don't think the movie will capture the freaky atmosphere, simply because you're not in control...But it will still be a good watch. And finally, its got....THE ROCK. He's an amazing action star with decent acting skills (he won't win an Oscar but...he was a wrestler, give him some credit.) I'm really excited about the movie.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Though I'm more excited about other game-to-movie things (Splinter Cell...Spy Hunter (also featuring THE ROCK) and what is gonna be the best movie ever: MAX PAYNE).

I am going to see this movie! It looks so cool :D :D . It looks like the game and I am a huge doom fan.

It looks like, from the preview, that they're splicing in shots from the game? That would completely destroy it's value for everyone except the few oddballs that wouldn't mind. People who don't play the game would think it's cheesey- hardcore fans may be offended-...

Im sure we,ve all seen movies where during a battle we are taken inside the warriors helmet to see what he sees.

Well I loved the games so Im gunna definetly see this. I think saw the advert for it on E4. Hope The Rock is gunna be good 8)

I don't think the FPS cam will be much of a success. Probably the biggest reason is that it has to be handheld, I don't see how it could be realistic otherwise. And constant action with handheld is very annoying and may cause cinema sickness. Also I don't think you have any interaction in the movie, where you do have that with the game, so I think it's kind of useless. Nice that they try it, it could be something of course. :)

Resident evil films were pretty good I thought and they were Game 'ports'. Spose it wasnt a FPS though.

Its like your actually playing the "film"....you see what the gun man see's. You see his hands/gun etc.... like on the game.
