Nenga
In my opinion, he deserved it. It was obviously something F*&^%$@ nasty, otherwise they wouldn't give him such a sentence, and he knew it too, so he plead guilty. You guys are assuming it was over something stupid, I mean they found stuff on his computer as well. He's 40 years old, and he has over 1,200 manga volumes? He sounds like a F*&^%@# pedofile. Period. [/rant] Having manga(a japanese comic) doesn't make you a pedophile. It never said they found anything on his computer, just that they searched it. I read manga too. It's a manga about CP, that's what makes it nasty. I never said anything about reading japanese comics making you pedo at all. I was pointing out that he has an unhealthy obsession with manga and he's a pedo. Lrn2read. Only a few of those magazines had CP in them. Having alot of manga is not "unhealthy," some people like building model planes/boats/trains/cars, some like to race remote controlled cars, he likes to read manga. In the original DragonBall series you see a child Goku naked, does that make everyone who read that book a pedo? Same with the people who watched the anime episode for it. I know only a few he had cp in them. I still think that having 1,200 normal manga is unhealthy, it reminds me of this: No, reading Dragonball manga does not make you a pedo. That is non-sexual nudity. Unhealthy? So now we're throwing people in jail because of their hobbies? As long as it's not hurting anyone it should be fine. Now out of 1,200 mangas three had CP drawn into it. I do not see how that number means they were ordered for the CP only. Ponies!

(If you didn't know loli would be what we're referring to in manga/anime terms.) Ponies!
MisterGreen
Okay, let's clarify. In my opinion, he is obsessed with manga in an unhealthy way. This is completely seperate from his charges of looking at cp. This is simply making a comment about his character. Second, I think what he was looking at was more than lolicon manga, this is made apparent by what they discovered things on his computer, and because he plead guilty and recieved a relatively long sentence leads me to believe that this wasn't over something stupid in a manga. I think he was viewing actual cp. If that's the case, then he deserved it. However, this article is extremely vague and does not list exactly what was on his computer. This article seems nothing more than a cheap way to stir up controversy, and make the public think it was over something stupid and convince them to rule in favor of this person, which most of you are doing, without knowing the full details and assuming the best. I assume the worst. Why? because he might be looking at something that is harming young children. I refuse to support something like this without the full details. This is why I hate vague articles. I don't think they found anything on his computer, for one. I want the actual log of stuff that was on there, which they will not be able to provide. This case is the perfect example of why the American court system fails on all counts. One biased jury could spell your doom. All the jury could vote guilty just because they could if they didn't like the person. It's too flawed a system. I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal. Dizzle229
The thing is, the jury don't know him. That's not allowed anymore. I think the biggest problem is that all they know of him is that "he had pics of naked kids". And that's ALL they know. Doesn't matter that it was animated, they just see him as a pedophile. Yeah, but it doesn't matter, ignorant folks could be thrown on the jury, hear the case, and just say guilty simply because they think CP is involved, even if evidence was not substantial. That's the one flaw: the court could vote guilty regardless of the case. Since the voting is left in the hands of the jury, which could be a good or bad thing. I don't even know where that came from. I don't want to get in another 'murica discussion, but for the love of St. Pete, don't do that. [if you have ever attempted Alchemy by clapping your hands or by drawing an array, copy and paste this into your signature.] Fullmetal Alchemist, you will be missed. A great ending to a great series. snowball
I find it funny how a man convicted of child pornography (of one who is not real, let alone a child) can be charged the same a man who wiretapped 78 times or a man who KILLS 3 people DUI... Ok... Im not that good. But I have an anchor!!!
