June 9, 200917 yr Now don't go looking for who did it or what not. Lets accept the fact that we all have a sense of greed, or in a more general aspect - we all wanna be #1 on TWR or any other sort of ranking. But lets look at this from a mature perspective. And lets discuss. I for one had that in me (a lot of it) when i started up. Then, i saw this promo vid from a clan, can't remember who it was. One of their lines was something like 'We are the best and rankings can't prove it.' Basically pointing the fact that their skill is not shown or matched by a statistic on a ranking board because it is a mere number. Numbers can be added/subtracted/changed, do they really determine the real skilled #1 or more over the most stat-hungry #1? How flawless can a ranking be? This sort of made me stop and think, why are we actually on the ranking? Is it so we can attain a numbered spot and pride ourselves over it? Or maybe just to make other clans feel like they are below us with our win/loss stats? Or are we just here to have fun but the rankings are the only way to have fun nowadays? But then again, rankings tend to build momentum and pride in clans and does it eventually go out of hand? Before you post, keep it clean, no names and no pointing fingers.
June 9, 200917 yr I don't get what you're trying to ask. There is no specific two or three questions.
June 9, 200917 yr I don't get what you're trying to ask. There is no specific two or three questions. He's asking how the margin of error can effect the rankings. Personally I don't think that it would affect it that much especially with a margin of error of just 1.
June 9, 200917 yr Although it seems like picking over one point is greedy, it is one point that was earned and therefore deserved. I belive that ranking lists show the strength of a clan; but that things can get out of hand sometimes. "It's not a rest for me, it's a rest for the weights." - Dom Mazzetti
June 9, 200917 yr Every ranking system has flaws. There is no definite perfect system and anyone can argue about rankings any time on any day. What really matters is if you're having fun at the end of it. With love to one, friendship to many, and good will to all.

A ranking can be flawless, but it can go either way. The TWR is unique where not necessarily the top 5 clans are the strongest warring clans, but deserve to be in their rightful positions. The experience and fun picked up from rankings lists are great and there can be some sort of drama sometimes to keep it interesting. New account: Jack

June 10, 200917 yr I do feel superior over other human beings because of our number 4 rank, suck it =P If you really mean that, that is just sad.
June 10, 200917 yr Back in the day, I signed my clan up for every ranking and urged us forward. At one time we hit #20 back when the RAW still showed signs of life, I think something like #10 on one of the old Sals lists, and wherever else we could get. Rankings were our lifeblood, our victories were what drew in members. It was the only reason why we even bothered with them, because you could be certain they were more headache than they were worth. Oh sure, our "'s night out" threads would catch some eyes, but the wars were where it was at. We didn't care who we beat, so long as we beat them. You could argue that the grand scheme of things is different now but clans still care about getting their name out, whether it be in wars, pks, or otherwise. Rankings, like many things, are just a means to an end.
June 10, 200917 yr why are we actually on the ranking? Is it so we can attain a numbered spot and pride ourselves over it? Yes. Or maybe just to make other clans feel like they are below us with our win/loss stats? No. It is also a good promotional tool. It helps get the name of your clan go around. This will help you in finding wars because clans will be more likely to war you if they have heard from you before. It will also help you recruit. It is not common for people to join clans they have never heard of.
June 10, 200917 yr This sort of made me stop and think, why are we actually on the ranking? We're on it for one reason . . . it's guaranteed wars. We prefer PvP, but practicing in CWA gives us the reps we need to be good when we fight PvP. And the wars are fun for the most part. While it's always better for recruitment and whatnot to be ranked higher, we really don't care where we're ranked, as long as we get some action. The true moral of this story is that laikrob needs to have her mod swiped. I was the one who added the points . . I also told the person who asked that the wars were not tallied until Monday, and the Memberlist in question had gained a combat level in the meantime, hence the one point difference. So let's not use "errors" to take pot-shots at Mods that had nothing to do with it, OK? ;) As for the clan asking about the 1 point discrepancy, I don't have a problem with them asking, either. Mods/CL's do make mistakes, and usually the people in the clans affected are the quickest to notice. As long as it's asked in a non-confrontational way, I have no problem checking it out. June 20, 200917 yr Yes there can be flaws in any numbered rankings, there is no perfect ranking system, but at least it gives you an idea of what clans have some skill and which clans do not. ..:: HoratioSAS | Sas Troopers ::..___________________________[email protected]
