Edit:Diamond bolt(e) is close to 1k->20 broads.

June 14, 200917 yr i always melee him. when i go to barrows i usually bring 7 lobs and 3 pray pots and im finish but im meleeing 99 defence reached 7/7/09 99 strength reached 12/28/08 barrow drop since 7/7/09 ahrims top(1), guthan spear(1), dharok legs(1), verac helm(1)

Is it just me, or does that seem a bit pricey to kill just one brother? Melee is basically free, and other bolts are cheap. Well, I usually only lose about 2 arrows at the most per ahrim kill. And it's all personal preference for me anyways. I just prefer arrows over bolts :P Ahrim always gets lucky hits in on me, so I like to have him done with quickly.
June 14, 200917 yr Ahrim has a measly Ranged defence, like the melee brothers have measly magic defence. I don't see the need to dish out 1k per bolt on a bolt as good as Broads, just to occaisionally ignore his measly Ranged Defence. I'll say it once more for effect. Measly. : I'd go with Broad, IMO. xD I would like to get the most difficult 99 in the game to accomplish. which is woodcutting. because I had a drunken night in philadelphia and sprayed a fire extinguiser, evacuated a 7 story hotel on the philly stadium, spent the night in jail.. then got on level 2 prob & have to pay 50 a month because I have a job. It's their way of collecting more money out of me.
June 14, 200917 yr Another good method to kill Ahrim I found is to use Rune Arrows and a Magic Shortbow. You usually can pick 'em off fire giant slayer tasks and they hit hard and fast. 99 Hits, Attack, Strength, Defence, Mage, Summoning, Slayer, Ranged, 96/99 Prayer

Even at a 180k Recharge rate, it's still more expensive than Rune C'bow and Broad Bolts (assuming you use Accumulator). If you don't use an Accumulator, go with Crystal. It's more convenient until, of course, it runs out of charges. I know that the Range Attack goes down every charge lost, but it does seem weird that I can hit so high with such low charge. Even if it is only the accuracy, that makes it just as inefficient. Your effective shot count (shots that do damage) will get lower and lower and the charges will go down just as fast. I thought only the accuracy went down with the charges? Straight from the KB: As it is powered from the crystal seed, you will find that it degrades over time, until it reverts to a seed. The crystal bow has 2500 shots, so every 250 shots, you will notice it degrades slightly. (For example, it will go from a 'New crystal bow' to a 'Crystal bow 9/10' after the first 250 shots.) As the bow degrades it will lose some of its Ranged Attack bonuses. Overall, the bow has extremely high accuracy, which remains until it degrades, but be warned that you will have a slight drop in accuracy. I still think it's better than rune crossbow and broad bolts, but only until it gets to the 6/10 or 5/10 steps, I guess. That's an estimate. I haven't done any studies, but I don't care to. Personal experience has shown me it hits harder...for me. June 15, 200917 yr If you are willing to be wasteful, then go ahead and use diamond bolts. I would personally just wear dhides and whip his [cabbage] in 10 seconds flat. He is a melee def nub... I must admit, that's certainly something. Excuse me while I wipe my drool off the floor.
