June 15, 200917 yr I used to love LoG, infact I've seen them live something like three times. I've kind of lost interest in them, though. As for hardcore, I'm not massively into it, but I haven't really looked either.

Try listening to Converge, Botch, Becoming the Archetype, Misery Signals, Unearth, and newer Underoath before you completely count metalcore out. I don't listen to any sort of hardcore. I basically haven't had the inclination.
