Jwviper
When I get enough money I might want to buy a saradomin sword. I'm not trying to get a 99 melee stat or anything, I just really think they look like a good weapon. Are they worth the money? I compared it to a whip and it doesn't seem as good as a whip/defender. Opinions?
Seraphi
SS if you want to train strength. Otherwise, no, whip is better.
Lets_3ekout
Not really, if you're not serious about getting either 99 strength or a very high strength level (92-99) then a whip is superior in just about every way. A whip is just a one handed saradomin sword without the prayer bonus. A shield can easily make up for that. What you can do is lend it from GE. By which I mean, just buy it and if you don't get screwed by a merch clan you should get your money back later. I wouldn't recommend this right now though, the GE is extremely unstable at the moment. 3hitm4g3u
Saradomin Swords are good for pures. If you're not pure stick with Whip and rune defender.
ladycai
For 99 strength yes. Afterwards it's just lend/sell. 95/99 Summoning95/99 Slayer [hide=This is what you look like when you play RS too long][/hide]
IeatWindex
I really find the SS useless. Even my friend who has maxed melee skills doesn't know what people see in it. Stick with a Drag Scimmy+ Rune defender, that's my wep for 99 Str. Anyways, I checked the Slash for Drag Scimmy+ Rune Defender agianst the SS, Drag scimmy has the higher slash stat. Attack is unimportant for training, since anyone with half a brain will train on something with low defence. SS boasts an enourmous +11 strength over scimmy+defender. SS is great for what it does, it kills any other weapon for strength training. I still stand by what I said before though. Jaffy1
Whip is a fine weapon as it's not 2h and fairly fast. If you want the strength, use ss, if not, stick with whip. =D> Tip.It Website Crew Leader[hide=Quotes]I love it how Jafje comes outa nowhere and answers my questionsHehe now we know what real life does...drugs, drugs, more drugs. I super attack potted with the SS and still hardly hit, I hit more often with the Dragon scimmy, maybe not as high, sticking around the low 20's, but im still hitting. When I hit with the SS, It'll hit like a 25, 2 hits higher than my max with a drag scimmy. Really, its just an overpriced weapon with not really a huge difference. At armoured zombies/zombie monkies it should hardly be any difference at all in terms of accuracy... It's really not all that overpriced considering you can sell it right back, but I 'spose that varies from player to player. Championfurydelta123
I suppose a SS is the best weapon to train strength with as it is whip speed and has a pretty good str bonus... however other than that a whip is better unless your trying to get rid of some junk : By three methods we may learn wisdom: First, by reflection, which is noblest; Second, by imitation, which is easiest; and third by experience, which is the bitterest. - Confucius

GibberEsh
K, so you could always just sell it back once you're done, assuming it won't crash. I think I've read stuff about how ss is 5-15k exp more than dragon scimmy so if you have the money, just get it.
