I'm thinking that MAG, despite being seemingly not very well-known, could be a turning point game for the console competition. It will be a game like Modern Warfare, but with more people in each game, and vehicles. It will also be a PS3 exclusive.

If the $300 version of the PS3 is real and MAG lives up to what they say it can do (runs smooth) then Sony may make a comeback yet.

Also, unrelated, but just as important, top games like Halo3 and Call of Duty Modern Warfare could easily be dethroned by MAG.

They already proved it runs perfectly with 256 players playing simultaneously at E3. The people playing were all over the USA. It was as smooth as even the smoothest COD game.

So don't let anyone tell you you're not worth the earth,

These streets are your streets, this turf is your turf,

Don't let anyone tell you that you've got to give in,

Cos you can make a difference, you can change everything,

Just let your dreams be your pilot, your imagination your fuel,

Tear up the book and write your own damn rules,

Use all that heart, hope and soul that you've got,

And the love and the rage that you feel in your gut,

And realise that the other world that you're always looking for,

Lies right here in front of us, just outside this door,

And it's up to you to go out there and paint the canvas,

After all, you were put on the earth to do this,

So shine your light so bright that all can see,

Take pride in being whoever the [bleep] you want to be.

Then hopefully I'm not the only one touting it as the could-be Halo/COD killer.

I just really haven't heard too much about it...

Probably because it's a PS3 exclusive...

MAG being a PS3 exclusive means that it will not kill Halo. The only thing I can foresee doing that any time soon is MW2, if it manages to top MW. MAG might be able to overcome MW on the PS3, but the 360 will remained relatively untouched. I must admit that if I could get a PS3 for $300, I would very much consider buying one, and probably selling my 360. And that's pretty much just to be able to play Killzone 2 and MGS. I figure I could get $350 for my console, games, and accessories (~10 games, 2 controllers, RB guitar, GHII guitar, GHIII guitar, Play and charge kit).

There's no such thing as regret. A regret means you are unhappy with the person you are now,

and if you're unhappy with the person you are, you change yourself. That

regret will no longer be a regret, because it will help to form the new,

better you. So really, a regret isn't a regret.

It's experience.

Well, if anyone was watching Gamescom you would have heard that Sony have cut the price of the PS3 starting tomorrow and the PS3 slim will be coming out 1st week of September with a $299/£250 price tag.

As more than one person has already pointed out, the XBox360 can easily cost just as much as the PS3 once you get all of the components and pay for XBoxLive.

What I don't understand is why some of you think that PS3 games are more expensive. From what I've seen, most new games are the same price on both the XBox360 and PS3.

Well, speaking of "potential" costs. You can get a 360 modded for $40 and you can have games for $0 after that (not including the cost of the DL DVD).

And, of course, illegal modifications to your console void the warrenty, so if it [bleep]s up, you need to buy another.

Yes, I am going to pool my money with my brother for Christmas to buy this thing and get some games! This console will definitely boost sales and should help Sony get out of the hole they dug a bit.

I'd rather get a new one w/ a bigger HDD. I already saved more than that from not buying games.

If you're talking about the PS3 you can just replace the current hard drive with any normal one, can't you? I have to say that this $300 PS3 news is pretty nice, makes it a little more tempting. Maybe once some more of the exclusives come out I'll think about it, depending on my money situation then.

Things aren't looking good for sony it seems ;)

I know everyone has their favourites (mine been the 360). I have a lot of time for Sony, I've owned the ps1 and ps2, but I got the 360 because it had everything I wanted at a heaps lower price. Had it been the price of a 360 I might of bought it, but I honestly can't see myself buying it in the next 2 years. 360 is more successful at a business standpoint, but the ps3 has heaps more features. But the average teenager can't afford it, let alone the DVD's and games required for the thing :?

I'm not a fanboy of the 360, but I can safely say that it will go strong in the future. Can't say the same for the PS3, however.

I thought the opposite, which is why i opted for the PS3. Xbox may have a cheaper base price, but with all the accessories (which are often compulsary) it made it far more expensive than the PS3.

Even if i bought an arcade xbox now it would still cost me more than a PS3.

Compared to the new PS3 the old one is just embarrassing. Why couldn't they make it that size all along?

Do you really have to ask that? It's been a few years. Technology changes, parts get smaller. They couldn't do it all along because it would have not fit.

Depends on what you need I think. If you need to buy a wireless adapter than, yeah, they really Jew you out of that price. I can't think of anything else that would be mandatory unless you're counting the cost of a live subscription.
