I'm going to take this chance to defend Ross in this argument (and not just because I like him)

 

Helios Spheres.

35m diam. armed with 6 "randomly" fired ARC cannons.

Thrown into the midst of a HUGE battlefield in an attempt to mess with enemy advances.

 

The fact that they would harm friendly units was brought up. I can see perfectly within reason why, but again this calls into question the actual basis of the nations "specialty". Ross's nation is comprised of rediculously advanced humanoid machines. The programming in these things is proposterously complex. So why cheap out om the defensive weaponry? Even today (in fact like 60 years ago irl) we have guns that are programmed to not fire when a propeller swoops by the muzzle (see pic of WWI fighter planes). It's perfectly within reason that Ross could have programmed the Helios spheres to not fire when directly pointed at a friendly unit without obstruction. If something it doesn't recognize passes it, it will fire. If Ross's unit passes it, it won't fire because it recognizes the similiar programming. It's certainly not impossible. There of course could be some error. But only as much error as a computer. Which is to say, very little.

 

And for clarification on the map:

Doom is not in control of Zimbabwe/Mozambique/Malawi, she is merely occupying them. Correct?

What happens when a fighter flys by it at top speed and it shoots, but the fighter turns away and the shot keeps going and his a friendly ship? Energy cannons and lasers don't have self-correcting ballistics properties.

If I were Ross I wouldn't use Spheres against fighters, especially considering that he has rail guns to do that, instead I would send off to the heart of a foe's fleet and let them spin around unleashing hell in six different varieties.

Yeah, basically everywhere that was yours(and everyone else's for that matter) is still yours(Theirs) now. It is just the land is being occupied, so factories and such are producing for them instead of you. The exception, as ever, is France, which is Dusty's.

How about the casualties in Japan?

Rpg is right, H. orbs wouldn't target fighters. There's a chance that they will suffer friendly fire, but the targeting systems make that chance very slim.

Just because it isn't an offensive weapon doesn't mean it shouldn't have advanced targeting systems.

So Ross, your specialty is robotics?

Robotics and computing. I'm the most advanced in the thread by quite a while (I think) in that field, with fully functioning quantum computers, a very advanced AI and very efficiently designed robotic bodies.

That reminds me a part of ARCHIVE X has been completed (this has absolutely no effect on the main project) I now have the tech for unmanned jet fighters that have some of the same properties of a harrier jet as well as the two machine guns and the capacity of 8 missiles or 2 bombs being held. Production of said fighters starts now.

So they're basically unmanned jet fighters?

Retech it would be wise to cease and desist in your attacks on earth. if you do not very bad things will happen to you. As of now a malaysian fleet is in your system cutting off all transport in and out. The super carrier has arrived and I may just use it to deliver the water fruit by slamming it at sub luminal speeds into the planet that your queen resides in. Also my fleet is now searching for any transports and space stations which it will destroy on sight. Or you could simply pull out of earth... your choice...

Going to let the round run for an extra half hour because I am writing an essay and conversing with someone about the feasibility of crashing a ship into a planet... Its more for the former than the later but still.

As you stated before, Malaysian forces are some of the weakest in the world, "a small fry" I believe you said. Perhaps if you hadn't said this, I would be more inclined to take your threat seriously, but what has been said, has been said.

 

It is true that you have blocked off all transport capabilities in and out of my system. This, I do not dispute as my faction has no military capabilities in space. Yet, your threat perplexes me. You stated that the reason was because of my attacks on Earth, however, near the end it states my only option is to vacate Earth entirely.

 

Obviously, that doesn't seem necessary at all, and your threat is but a small compared to the other more "real" threats.

 

Perhaps you should evaluate your threat and explain more succinctly before you expect that it will be effective.
