good because they have been spotted and close to 2,000 planes are now en route to them

If two people who do detailed posts, and are usually reasonable, like dusty and I have a fight, and we don't have any disagreements, we can handle the war ourselves. However, if I want to contest something, and dusty disagrees, then a war judge comes in. I like that better, that way war progresses without having to wait for a judge to post, and it saves the judge a lot of time.

Of course if two countries wanted to use a war judge for all battles, they could.

Agreed. Though I doubt the two of us will actually go to war before we both have super-duper spaceships and can fight with lasers in zero-g, but yea.

I'll write up a response to the other stuff you posted in a few minutes, just going to pop outside for a bit.

All these wars and I'm simply enjoying my Piña Colada.

I send a drone with a peashooter to smash whatever you're drinking out of.

Okay Doom, that sounds fair.

We use the randomiser if we can't agree on something.

My Drones begin to use their inbuilt blowtorches to dismantle the HAWs peice by peice.

I send in another 200 SFere pods.

48 are knocked into unusable terrain, due to the enemy knowing what to do against them now.

243 of my drones have been destroyed so far, leaving 2337, combined with the new 2280 which just arrived, there are now

4617 drones around your capital city.

Now that Grim has moved almost all of his airforce away, I have begun construction of automated AA turrets with the recycled peices of the HAWs that are being taken apart.

See, not only are machines not affected by fear or morale, but they can also hold instructions for building things as well, and since they must use the most logical way to construct said turrets, they go rather quickly.

They basically use the flak cannons in the HAW legs, and place them at an angle to shoot down any planes.

They then transfer their AI to said turrets and leave them to do their job.

GOD DAMN IT. The point of this war is to use the new war mechanics. You can't just create what you want to happen.

Plus, I have anti-aircraft weaponry.

sorry Ross but when did you say that your drones had blow torches? (I distinctly remember posting about the joint armor and the fact that my HAW's now have rocket launchers) also the planes are now fanning out and searching for the camp

I think me and Grim WILL need a judge afterall.

Doom/Dusty, can you manage it? Please?

Grim, my Drones are equipped with all kinds of tools.

Wire cutters, blowtorch, soldering iron, that sort of thing.

Actually I'm not really worried because I called in all but roughly 20 HAW's back

Also these things are nuclear powered btw so if my crew was about to die anyways the could simply make the reactors meltdown...

Well, thanks for the information, I'll probably just contact them now, and offer to let them stay alive if they don't do that.

Need a war judge for Kirby, Me and Grim.

Unless you are focusing all 2000 planes at one batallion, yes. Even then, most of my troops could make it out alive.

I knew i should have chosen fanatics for my HAW crews :( since this is just a game I have sent up reinforcements and mirrors to my space station (so it can take alot of hits from arc lasers)

My main drone force of roughly 1 million has mobilised and is en-route to Malaysia.

My ARC cannons attempt to bounce the laser off of the mirrors and into your capital city.

(I think that would work, can anybody confirm that?)

Drones have finished building their turrets, and have now begun ambushing anything that enters or exits the city.

Nothing escapes.

Ok, I'll judge. Can you summarize it?

With mirrors, they would pretty much diffuse a lot of the energy, but the heat would melt through them eventually. The laser would do less damage, but it would still do some. I don't think they would actually bounce off, and if they did they would dissipate before getting back to earth due to the loss of energy.

You never actually stated that the drones had that sort of capability, or the capability to transfer their AI to something like an AA turret, so I'm going to have to say that tactic is off the map (sorry mate).

Looks like Doom is willing to judge as well, which is good, since I suck at math :P

I DECLARE WAR ON GERMANIA!

Meet my FX-Talon!!!

My troops are on full alert along the border line, with heavy reserves waiting to fill any gaps that might show along the line. My static AA guns have been loaded with small rockets with a giant ball attached to them which will explode once the rocket reaches its intended height, showering shrapnel all over that point. My radar is on full power, meaning any Talons (which are a stupid thing, I don't even know why I'm acknowledging their existence) will be detected coming from miles away.

I did miss that, whoops. Let's just pretend I said that major quebec cities are being fortified with veteran troops, and planes are being launched from Central American airbases. Most of my forces in the US are closer to the Aether-Brazil border, so we're marching those (along with mobile aa, not as advanced as you're MAAS's, but still usable). towards quebec.

All civilians in the former US have retreated into underground habitats, the main doors have been sealed, and camouflaged. So in otherwords, the civilian part of the US is untouchable, but the land itself is not, since the cities are almost impenetrable (A direct bomb would probably just cave in the first level, leaving the rest unreachable. They're self sustaining, so even if they were trapped they would be fine.)

A few ships that were in the area of Quebec are trying to hold off the assault, but there aren't enough of them to do anything more than hit and run attacks. The panama canal is now closed to all but military, brazilian vessels.

And I think everything else you said is reasonable.

And um, for portugal, we're trying to hold the line as best we can. Roads are being destroyed in areas where Germans will soon march through (like a few miles in front of where you broke through) in order to slow their movement, and hamper supply trucks and the like.

Civilians are being evacuated to mainland Brazil by any means possible. Boats are protected by two destroyers, and planes don't go anywhere near germans.

Cities are being prepared for defense, roadblocks are being made, traps set, and so on.

Eh, it's no problem. Germanian naval vessels at the vanguard engage with the Brazilian ships, 1 Germanian destroyer is sunk due to a lucky hit that managed to get its way into the munitions bay, but otherwise the ships scare off Brazil's handful of vessels, and the amphibious assault proceeds.

Germanian high command chose its location well, but there is still some resistance. Brazilian reserve troops are rushed up, but since there were no fortified positions guarding the beach-head, Germania manages to secure the land without taking horrendous casualties. Around 20,000 troops took place in the attack, and suffered around 5,000 casaulties, of which 2000 are expected to recover in a few months and be back in the fight. A further 50,000 troops were brought up, and have begun digging into the land gains in Quebec. Germania has also sent a few transport ships to the Canadian arctic isles, going straight north from Germania, and around the north pole so as to avoid the Brazilian ships swarming all over the Atlantic.

Germania has launched all its subs, with order to engage in hit and run attacks on all supply vessels, and military vessels that aren't guarded by destroyers.

Germania is also staging a second assault on Tanzania, below the frontline and deep behind enemy lines. Germanian troops have redoubled their offensive along Kenya, in the hopes of breaking through and reuniting with the forces that are attacking Tanzania (if it goes to plan - which it probably won't).

The assault in Portugal has ground to pretty much an assault. Germania has made some more land gains, but the over-whelming resistance from Brazilian troops has forced a stalemate along the border. With the Germanian navy patrolling Portugal's borders, and heavy air force activity on both sides, Germania hopes to cut dry the supplies from Brazilian troops in Portugal and force their hand.

Now I just need to figure out a way to destroy your HSIF bombers. Frak. Those things would be so annoying.

Also, Doom, I think our soldiers are pretty evenly matched, so we don't need to factor in all the tech stuff. Your troops have better guns, training, and have the advantage of being the defender, while mine have a slew of bio improvements and a scattering of exosuits.

Now, this needs a number generator. I will do it and edit it in, just watch for it.

Alright.

150 ICBMs are launched at Burma.

There is a very small chance that a few would be intercepted by another country nearby before they realized they weren't aimed at them. We'll take the number roll divided by 10.

Roll: 62 (round down to 60). Ouch.

6 ICBMs are intercepted by another country nearby and destroyed. 154 ICBMs en route.

Since Burma doesn't have a missile shield, but there are other ways to destroy incoming ICBMs, we'll put that at roll/5.

Result: 13 (round down to 10).

2 ICBMs are destroyed by Burma's archaic defenses.

152 ICBMs en route.

There is a strong chance that the missiles will end up hitting somewhere due to improper target co-ords, weather variations, electronical failures, etc. Roll/3

Result: 40

13 ICBMs land in farmland or harmless locations.

139 ICBMs en route.

Complete failure/aborted launches will take up a small percentage as well, Roll/5.

Result: 95. Wow.

19 ICBMs completely fail/are aborted (maybe the operators were drunk or something?)

120 ICBMs en route.

Okay, now to work out Burma's casaulties. I'd say, since there was very little warning, that a roll of 1-10 will mean that the majority of citizens got out okay, a roll of 11-30 would be around 50% got out okay, while 31+ would mean nobody got out okay (eg. horrendous casaulties).

Result: 21. Lucky Burma.

50% of the people get out of the main cities okay, but since the evacuation is in progress, everyone is packed together pretty tight. 120 ICBMs fall into Burma's major cities, causing around 1 million civilian casualties, and around 75,000 troops casualties (they would've been helping with the evac).

Is that okay? I don't really know about the casualties it would cause, as I couldn't find any relevant data for it on the intarwebz.

Righto, I guess I'll begin melting through those mirror shields then.

I really doubt anyone will want to ask a writhing mass of machinery equipped with high tech weaponry to stop, so they should be able to move through the countries unquestioned.

Okay, no turrets/AI transferring, since I never actually said that in a post.

My drones instead use the HAW peices to create cover.

One million drones are nearly arriving at the Malaysian border.

There are still around 4340 drones around the capital.

(Also, I think he stated that his major cities were evacuated near the start)

Doom, I mainly need judging on the chances of an attack being successful or not.

And Kirby, I accept your alliance.

you have 15-30 minutes game time before they hit with no missile shield i would assume 95% of them hit so that would make it pretty devastating Also now that the reinforcements are done (and as its just a bad shrimp induced haze) I am sending my space station on a collision course with tehran
