I would like to clarify the life cycle of the Lichtes, so it makes more sense to people.

 

Beginning:

 

Conception: Whether Asexual or sexual > females can only be born of sexual unions

The process is much like a fish. The Lichtes lays many eggs, though only a few are fertilized (the rest are food for the baby)

The dormant spawn have a 1/5th chance of becoming active every year

The newly grown spawn feast on the egg and surronding plankton. They have a 2/5ths chance of growing up per year into adulthood.

Only half are eligible for military service; the others work as civilians.

 

The Lichtes must complete a 4-year training course to become eligible as soldiers.

Ok I have finished compiling a new world map, this one is not coloured in any way. I am going to remove the names from it now but thought some people might like it to plan stuff on without the terrible problems. It is also much larger at about 7500 pixels wide and 3000 tall.

Using these rates, the Lichten population is estimated to be around 125 million. It would probaly be far higher but the civil war greatly affected them.

 

I estimate the Lichten growth rate to be in excess of 5%. I will post accurate figures later.

Actually... Kelp would sustain a much larger volume of people than would grain... simply because Kelp is so prolific. Also, being that the Lichtes are always at war with something, and are Aquatic so live in 3 dimensions rather than our 2 dimensions (if you think about it the actual volume of space available underground dwarfs the land volume considerably).

Thus their rate of growth is probably sustainable.

Alas, I have finished reading what has gone on since I have been gone. So, hi again!

 

 

I have produced 6 more Cruisers, and 8 destroyers. 4 more rail orbital guns are in orbit. My population is somewhere in 18-21m and army size is now around 3m. 475 mechs have been produced. My budget is around 135b. Unsurprisingly, research on the exosuits has improved them lots, so the wearers can now lift upwards of 250kg easily.

 

The research on that has stopped, and research is now going into neural implants to improved reaction times. This will cost 80b a year. The spare 20b is going into special forces training for 15,000 of my troops, and improving their weaponry.

Lichtes attack in North Japan, 2 Islands, the furthest from the new colony, are taken without a chance of organizing a resistance. On the next nearest Island a force of 800,000 had assembled and, at a cost of 315,000 islanders, defeated the 126,000 force that had been plaguing them.

 

The Malysian Navy intercepted a force of 1.2 Million Lichtes troops trying to attack Japan from the south. The Fleet of 4 Crusiers, 10 Destroyers, 10 Anti Sub Frigates and 14 submarines were lost with all hands, but managed to destroy 1 million of the High Explosive(Military code for the best) Licht troops.

 

The remaining 200,000 chose to continue with the attack, throwing themselves on the Japanese Islands and a force of 500,000 Islanders(they are not attacking the main Island just the outlying) rose up against them. The battle, which was touch and go for the most part, ended with a Lichtes victory, but with only 18,000 HE troops left it is questionable whether or not they will hold their new island for very long and already their is talk of uprisings from the Islanders. The Japanese people are shocked and appalled, both at the Lichtes for defiling their land with their presence and with the Government for not providing adeqate defence against the hoard. In this reporters belief it is only a matter of one, myabe two short years before Japan erupts into riots if some visible defenses are not soon started.

 

Bangladesh had a mixed year, advancing into China while getting attacked from India. The 2 million strong army marched into china, defeating the pathetic milita of 800,000 men, leaving 1.7 million alive. This number was dramatically cut when a hoard of 2 million Icarus drones clashed in Bangladesh causing the General in charge of the attack to turn about and try to defend the nation. The commander, realising his forces were not up to defeating the Drones in a straight fight chose to take up defensive positions inside the country, sacrificing the boarder land, where the majority of the defenses were...though these had largely been overrun and would have been completely lost by the time the forces had reached them. But alas, even behind the walls of stone and iron they could not survive the advance. The Icarus drones suffered heavy casualties and were left with only 16 thousand drones. Unless the situation is bolstered quickly Bangladesh may once again threaten to become Brazilian territory.

 

 

Two million troops troops stationed in Sri Lanka in preperation for an assult on the Indian mainland, we believe, were bombed in a daring morning raid and then attacked by 300,000 Britannia troops. Reports indicate that Britannia was unaware of the build up and the attack was not a pre-emptive strike. However much the same effect was had, with the Brazillian forces unable to counterattack, though they did mount a defense. The bombing runs managed to kill 100,000 soldiers and demoralise the rest, but they fought gallantly with only 350,000 further deaths. The attacking Britannia forces were, but for 50,000 troops, wiped out. The remaining forces surrendered to Brazil.

 

Icarus drones were also active in Turkey, a force of 400,000 met a defensive force of 500,000 and was promptly destroyed in what can only be described as a work of art. The two highly skilled forces laid into each other with such precision that exactly 100,000 Brazillian troops were left at the end.

 

In Russia twelve million forces poured from the Czardom into Brazilian rebel lands, slaughting the 600,000 strong defensive force stationed there with 900,000 deaths, due mainly to friendly fire and civil uprisings. This reporter suspects that the figure might have been even higher had the defensive force NOT been there, but with a force this large a lot more land could have been taken.

 

Britain was attacked with the largest navy which has ever been seen. Unfortunately this massive force led to the destruction of 2 carriers, 8 destroyers and 1 submarine because of its unwieldly size. The attack in Britain destroyed half the defenses built to withstand just such an invasion, which gave a great advantage to the attacking forces, which they sorely needed. The 1.2 million strong landing force suffered from the water landing, from which they never recovered. Although it could be argued that against the 7 million strong garrison they could never had won. With over a million people dead and under the cover of heavy shore bombardment 150,000 troops withdrew from the conflict.

The flotilla also took heavy damage from four weeks(the conflicts length) bombing raides involving more than a thousand aircraft. This immense under taking saw the destruction of 630 airplanes on the Britannia side but the loss of all 29 Carriers along with 60 subs and 20 destroyers. Bringing the total naval destruction up to 31 Carriers, 28 destroyers and 61 submarines.

 

This costly attack was offset by another attack occuring in France. A total of 7 million Icarus Drones were sent across the channel and up the river Seine for an awe-inspiring attack on Paris. The trip up to Paris cost 2 million drones being destroyed as part of the armada inflatable powerboats were destroyed, but the majority got though by a combination of skill and speed. Once in Paris there was a desperately slow unloading, the advantage of suprise being lost entirely. However the initiative was not, with two hundred Icarus drones making for the Effiel Tower and using Arc Casters to create a semi-controllable lightening rod. This proved to be effective at forcing the evacuation of Paris by the Brazillian administration, but errant bolts and limited fighting managed to destroy another million Icarus drones while they were in the water. What this 4 million strong army will do now that it is in the heart of France is anyone's guess, but with their backs against the wall sitting still is not an option.

 

An incendry attack on the Holy Empire has led to the burning of the oil fields, 'a massive blow for infrastructure, limiting Icarus drone construction to only half a million a year' said an informed source.

 

50,000 Troops of the newly reformed Terran Alliance, under the name Germania, provoked a powerful counter attack. The 50,000 troops were supposed to be tying the forces of Egypt up while more troops are assembled for a major assault, we believe. Instead half a million Icarus drones were dispatched from the previous states of Aether to meet this challange. Suffice to say that the 50,000 did not last long, though they did manage to destroy 75,000 of the drones first.

This was not all though, the commander in Eithopia, supposed to attack 2 weeks later instead charged his attack in co-ordination with the attack from the north. The resulting pincer of 800,000 troops, half of them drones, caught the 500,000 defenders and herded them into a single pocket of resistance. The death toll on both sides was around 200,000, all normal troops. 320,000 Terra troops are also trapped within the corden.

 

In central Africa 1.4 million troops continued their push southwards being met by only 350,000 troops. Suffering terrible casualties the remaining 200,000 withdrew further south. The Brazillian army only suffered 100,000 casualties.

 

In south Africa a 400,000 strong assault by Britannia failed to destroy the defending force of 500,000. The battle was fought to the last with only 130,000 troops remaining.

 

The South African situation is currenly dire and the only effort to help it was hampered by the Lichtes who attacked the unarmed transports as they were heading back into open waters after a significant detor into the Brazillian perimeter and along the Antarctic coast. Although a mayday was sent to the Brazilian perimeter fleet the fleet was too far streched to give any support. Arguably they could not have reached the Cape of Africa anyway. The small army of 50,000 HE troops and 110 subs tore the transports apart, killing the 400,000 troops within. The Lichtes suffered only five casualties. Brazil has been rumoured to have sent out peace feelers to the New World Order in combating this new menance which kills without discrimination. Rumours have also been started that Brazil is in negotiations with the Lichtes in hiring their services in an attack on India and to replace troops lost in South Africa, or so we have been led to believe by our informed sources.

 

Further rumour that Kamino and Bulgaria have been approached by both sides along with peace feelers from the NWO. At this point it is all speculation and the actions of this coming year will no doubt prove decisive.

So you are pro wormhole technology? Why are you against stargates then? Stargates are after all just stable artificial wormholes capable of dialing to any other similiar device within the same(or if enough power another) galaxy.

Sorry Dungeon, made a miscalculation. The military should've been more like 75%. Keep in mind the following:

 

Men make up 90% of the population and 20% of the brain power.

Extremely warlike, civil war has been raging for generations.

Billions of casualties from the civil war already.

 

I believe the rules only state that human races start with 10 million? I've also underpowered my technology to compensate for the race's virility.

 

Also keep in mind that Arch has repeatedly stated that 100 of my subs = one of your big subs. You'd think it would be easier for me to just make big subs, but my race doesn't require life support systems as they are already aquatic. Subs are just like tanks to these people. :P
