That is basically what is happening. The Virus is 50% effective if it is deployed in the next 5 days. If it is deployed on the third or after it becomes 70% effective. You can keep up to 2000 people alive by implanting symbionts. My ships will attempt to stop all missiles reaching your planet, Mather will engage Rocco's Fleet.

i recall all tel'tacs not carrying symbionts and send Atlantis, fully loaded with both jumpers and drones. The city itself will lower into the ocean, deploying jumpers and drones when neccessary.

Engaging with Atlantis would be foolish as it is easy to hit if in orbit but nearly impossible underwater and it can attack from both possions.

 

And Rocco, shields and EM-thrusters will ensure a safe landing while the jumpers and drones are capable of complex evasive manouvers while the former is a large distances firing drones and the latter is moving fast enough to avoid you getting a proper lock.

They reprodce asexually and sending a queen would be foolish, however such medicine is possible and it is called Tretonin, beware however as it makes your people dependant on it if taken to many times

I have no intensions of making his people dependant on Tretonin, that is why I put the "beware" in the sentance. Taking it once is not enough for it to have any negative effect on one's natural imune system, taking it five times or more does, nor does being a host to the creature itself.

The effect is only temporarely and continued use causes total dependance, isn't that a negative effect. If you read my post again you will see I said medicine not vaccine, I chose my words carefully in order to avoid missunderstandings

Well considering that the virus will exist on the planet for a number of years from now(since it is Aquatic) the Tretonin will be used more than 5 times.

Since the planet is Aquatic the water will be rich in bio-matter, so the virus will be sustained for years, even if it doesn't infect anyone.

Like I was stating before, the virus would be calibrated to my species. You also said that since my race has killed off all small animals and viruses designed for animals cannot live in plants, then it should be clear in a year or two once everyone is dead.

I'm willing to believe that the virus could mutate and infect my species but I'm not willing to believe that the same virus that infects my species also infects plankton. Come on, that's ridiculous.

It's absurd to think that a single strain of a virus can infect everything. If you agree that it can infect plankton, then it can infect humans as well. Oh great, now I have a biological weapon to use against YOU.

10 years to vaccinate means a total of 10 years effort for everyone. If I have more people, then the faster a vaccine will be created.

 

 

I do not thing it should be that a virus lasts in a system forever. There seems to be no way to incinerate it, and mutations would make it last forever on the planet. The reason this doesn't happen in real life is that viruses without carriers simply die out. Both Archi's and your statement about viruses living in biomatter and plankton is scientifically incorrect and thus can and will be ignored unless you provide evidence that a virus can infect a billion different species while only having a single strain. Also, you must prove that a virus can live in an enviroment without any hosts for an indefinite amount of time.

You cannot say that the defences are not effective, as then I could say your virus was not effective. :)
