Yeah, and even if not you have sort of sent prisoners to just about everyone...

But yeah, basically your homeworld will be dis-inhabited if the virus makes it...leaving you with only colonies.

Rocco, if you do manage to kick Retech of his homeworld then I will buy his homeworld off of you, I need a new planet for my Waterfruits to grow on. Do you have a price in mind?

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

Have you managed to capture enough of them to produce a deadly virus out of them?

I do not think so.

@Dusty:

The Britannian government calls on the Terran Federation to release King John. Instead of punishing him by death, we request that he is instead exiled to Eden, where he will have no more political influence on anyone.

He's currently being held in cryogenic sleep for an indefinite amount of time.

It definitely does matter. There's a reason why all these flus took so long to get to us. They hadn't mutated to a form which could infect humans.

This is a bit late to call this on, but I completely forgot to mention it previously:

@Archi

How EXACTLY does male/male breeding work? This is a crime against nature itself (not that I'm apposed to homosexuality, infact I'm willing to bet my entire population is bisesxual) and can not happen. I guess cloning could techinically be considered male to male breeding, but you should know by now how I feel when people encroach on my niche.

and can someone explain to me how you "research" a virus? You can mutate an existing one, but I find it hard to bleive that you can pull one out of thin air.

@Rocco

Explain your virus. I want exact details for 2 reasons.

1) To add character to the game

2) So i can diagnose the exact issue and treat it (if not vaccinate it)

I'm begining development of a special type of cluster bomb. I'm blunt with my projects, screw subtlties.

A medical research facility will be built on Orojike. This area will be covered with a bio-dome, and air-locks will be used. This will make the area capable of being quarantined should a plague outbreak occur due to an accident. The facility has been christened the "Orojike Medical Research Centre" (OMRC). OMRC will handle medical research that is too risky to take place on Britanniae.

The architects, cartographers and landscapers have arrived on Earth, and the study of Japanese metropolitan cities has begun. They should be there for a few years before traveling back to Britanniae. Once they have arrived back to Britanniae, the reconstruction of Japanese cities on New Japan will begin immediately.

Second Life continues to progress well. Researchers are transforming volunteers' brainwaves into high-quality images and video. Some of the brainwaves analysed included sexual fantasies, but the confidentiality of all volunteers is in full force. All volunteers are told to not be embarrassed by what shows up on the screen. Researchers are also trying to use Aetherian computer technology in order to analyse brainwaves and transfer favourable thoughts into a sort of "alternative universe" as some researchers say.

The construction of new cities and factories continues to progress well. The use of magnetic trains has been very popular. As one citizen stated, "It's really awesome that we're being good stewards of our new environment. None of this was even conceivable on Earth. I love my new home."

Expedition teams have been sent into unexplored regions of New Japan and Oceania, and another expedition team will travel to the unnamed continent on the far east of the Britannian map.

Construction of new cities on Kajea has begun, but it will be at a slightly slower pace than that of Britanniae. Expedition teams will explore the Kajean jungles in approximately 3 years. Kajea is a large planet, and it will have many places to explore for a long time. The same policy of preserving the pristine environment will still apply to this realm (world). The 300 million or so Britannian residents on this world admire the three moons of Kajea.

I just made random maps using ms paint. I basically just scribbled out the shapes I wanted for continents with the pencil tool, then made it look nice and not terrible on photoshop.

My point to Rocco is that you cannot make a virus that infects my species simply because you have NO sample of anything of my species.

There are probaly two ways of "creating" a virus.

1. Mutate it

or

2. Combine Proteins and some DNA/RNA to create a virus, then slowly adapt it by yourself

Both these ways require an understanding of the species you're trying to infect. For the first option, you have no virus to mutate. SImple as that. If you are mutating a virus you were already researching, I can probaly assume it is a human virus, as you began researching before I arrived. Now that you are "done" with your invincible virus, you cannot just say that it is for my species, as you have no basis on which to mutate this virus to infect my species. The second way is similar to the first in that you do not know what you are mutating it for, and you cannot mutate it to my species, as you have no guideline for which to mutate it.

Your argument is flawed; you have not researched a Lichtes virus for 20+ years. You have researched a human one. It will take you another 20 years or (however long it is) to research a virus specifically for my species.

That makes no sense.

It is not gamebreaking to say that a virus can't infect a species that you didn't design it to infect.

It is gamebreaking to say a weapon can't damage something that it hasn't been tested upon.

Two totally different things.

Keep in mind the distinctions between reptiles and my species are similar, but they aren't even related to each other. They just evolved the same way because of the conditions that existed at the time. Besides, amphibians would be more related in physiology, but not genetically.

Anyways, my point is that you would have no way of knowing the physiology of my species, and right now, I can even say that the genetic code of the cells is so different that it is a hostile enviroment to viruses based on DNA/RNA. You designed your virus for the lifeforms that you knew at the time. That is humans, reptiles, amphibians, your species, etc. It doesn't matter if you did all of them, as my species is so different, it wouldn't infect them.

You could modify the virus to infect my species (introducing genes from my viruses into your viruses), but first you'd have to obtain many corpses of my people that are recently decayed. Then it would probaly take at least 5 years to modify it.

I'm just saying that your current virus cannot and will not infect my people.

Didn't you just read what I posted?

You CAN infect my people after you've obtained a sample of one of the viruses infecting my people and crossing the genes with your virus. Of course this will take time, and I don't see how you'll even obtain one of my people to find a virus.

If this is not addressed, it is a legitimate reason that the virus can be ignored.

A virus is completely different from an ordinary weapon. We could make the comparison that a weapon can kill any species because the species are still made out of matter and a weapon can incinerate matter.

A virus can destroy the body of a certain kind of cell (as you know, a virion inhabits other cells and creates more virus using the cell's mechanics). Now, a virus cannot destroy the body of a different kind of cell because they are made of two totally different things.

It's like you're a fighter pilot fighting an alien race, and you get stuck behind enemy lines. You hijack an enemy ship, only to find out that instead of the usual buttons and throttles, there is a single round ball in the center of the cockpit. You have no clue what to do. Same thing with the virus, it doesn't know what to do.

-----------------------

You could say that your ships are invincible to Archi's ships. I would accept that if you actually had a reason for it. Besides, Archi's ships don't really fire. You would then in turn have to accept my logical argument that your virus cannot infect my species.

Rocco has a point, virus are generally designed to cross the species barrier fairly easily. Since you rely on DNA and RNA we can safely assume that the virus still has an effect. However Retech's point is valid. However prisoners were sold to Rocco last turn and so he can launch his attack in 5 years time, or he can launch it sooner, but it will only kill 50%

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

That's an act of trechery ya know. Of course I can't really do anything about it, except continue to argue, so I will. :)

They don't rely on DNA/RNA, that cannot be assumed. Since they are from separate worlds, it would be more likely if they relied on something different.
