Hegemony-V2 begins page 302

My stations were built a while ago but I priced them at 100 billion each (back when currency meant something in this game).

My ships only have a value when they're in a battle because that makes it easier. I don't value them now because then I have cumbersome lists of numbers and values and production rates that I have to keep track of. It's far easier to just make a suitable rate (what I have) and then give them fair values when we actually have a conflict.

All it takes is a list in ms word that takes about a second to update once a week/however often you want.

You take your number of stations, multiply that by 200 and you get your PP. Unless you're building more stations, this number is constant.

Then you just write the last time you updated your fleet, then once you update it again you add that much PP in ships to your fleet.

So if you put out 200 pp a day, and you update once a week, at the end of the week you add, for example, 14 battleships.

It's not a cumbersome list, and it's a lot easier to keep track off and to adapt to different ship types.

SUMMARY:

Just add however much PP you're stations have produced since you last updated to your fleet whenever you update.

Radius: The width of a standard truck

Projectile Weight: A truck

Best way I can describe it.

[hide=Today's Progress]

[hide=Capiahs]

System: Capiah

Population: 1,200,000,000

Moons: None

About it: Capiah is the most established colony besides that of Japan on Earth. With a quickly expanding population and abundant species of kelp, the settlers are thriving. The relatively large amount of land is still mostly unused, aside from defences, but future uses could be found.

[/hide]

[hide=Erikio]

System: Recea Decimus

Population: 60,000,000,000

Moons: None

Erikio is the seat of the Lichtes government and homeworld to most of its people. Skyscrapers exist that are taller than almost any structure on Earth, mainly because the buoyancy that the water provides. It is covered by 99% water, with the land harnessed to grow luxury food crops, meat, and defensive installations.

[/hide]

[hide=Meoxo]

System: Meoxo

Population: 24,00,000,000

Moons: None

--

New Erikio has quickly been upgraded into a full scale military base. Massive underground tunnels snake through the continental shelf and deeper into the sea crust. The majority of Lichtes citizens live here, sheltered from infectious viruses and invading aliens by the limitless fortifications and defences. This is a major Iridium monopole mining base. Deep within the tunnels, the worst of society (over 200 million) trudge down into the mines to get as much Iridium ion as they can. The ones that give above average get a comfortable bed for the night, while those below average can either go back to their homes or go down to get more Iridium to get a bed.

[hide=Tycus III A]

System: Tycus

Population: 6,000,000,000

[hide=Technology in progress]

Name: Improved Coilguns

Completion Date: Ongoing

Effects: Uses monopoles to power a gun which has little to no recoil

Name: Scram Cannon

Completion Date: Christmas!

Effects: Uses Kinetic energy and supersonic combustion to launch a projectile as far as other weapons without the complexity.

Name: EM shield blocker technology

Completion Date: January 1st

Effects: Blocks "teleportation"

Name:

[/hide]

[hide=Constructions]

Name: Sector E battlestation

Completion Date: December 7th

Effects: Helps defend Japan from space attacks

Name: Earth to Space Artillery Batteries

Completion Date: December 7th

Effects: Massive Artillery and Flak installations are built on land and flotation devices on sea. The ones on land often have a tunnel that goes down into the main tunnels, but these are sealed except during peacetime. Though the projectiles cannot aim straight (due to the winds), the massive amounts of artillery flying through the air and the expanse of their fleet makes it easy to hit. If the enemy begins to land, then it will be far easier to hit them.

Completion Date: December 1st

Effects: Hides up to 50 million people in a defensive location with filtration and food

Name: Advanced tunnel fortifications and life support

Completion Date: First Phase, December 1st (Ongoing)

Fine Rocco, as long as nothing gets out of hand.

Retech, that might be a bit large for it's weight. I did the math for my Railship (same thing as yours basically), and for a 100 ton solid tungsten projectile here are the measurements:

projectilek.jpg

If it weighed only as much as a truck, it would be basically hollow aluminum.

You say your system is underpowered, yet you have more production capability and you can create a 10,000 PP ship using 10 stations in 1 year.

You seem to be contradicting yourself, you have the best production rate out of all of us, since you aren't sticking to a system and you're making production rates up as you go along.

So what weight do you think would make sense for a weapon of that size?

I do own Met'Al (the planet) I claimed it and sent people to it long before Rpg did. Rpg claimed every other planet in the system though.

This is a true statement. I thought the system was called "Met'Al". My mistake.

In other news, My overly large stockpile of battleships is now for sale. I recall having a crap load of them orbiting Mars. They're costing me more money than they're worth at this point...so make me an offer.

@Retech, well depends what material, if it's solid, etc. I don't think a projectile that large is even necessary, as 100 tons of tungsten going at excessive speeds will do as much damage to a ship (see: Destroy completely) as 1500 tons of tungsten traveling at the same speeds. Plus you'll be able to carry more shots with smaller projectiles.

Also, rocco the system I originally offered you wasn't to make you use PP, but to make it 1 big ship every other year, and then 2000 fighters a year. That would work with the PP system, but you don't have to adopt it.

It would be solid. It requires such a large volume and mass because lasers can easily burn through small material, so I require a mega projectile which can't be intercepted, though it can be dodged.

Keep in mind Rpg he's not offering to feed them. Lol.

Also, I believe we were moving away from the 1b troop zerg rush [cabbage].

Lasers aren't gonna be able to stop 100 tons of tungsten, even though it looks like a smallish projectile. But for the size of a truck it would weigh approximately 2841 tonnes.

Well they're easy to keep and maintain because they're eggs. Then they're hatched and loaded on a ships to travel to a system. This takes a week in RL, since my egg storage facility is a week away. So during those seven years, they're trained and they arrive battle ready. No need to feed them; they come with a small store of food, since they're expected to die within a year anyways.

-----

Remember Archi's laser-prism thing? Now imagine if he had a hundred of those ships. Yeeeeeeeeeep

-----

My new strategy to limit the cost is to have a small standing army. It's probaly around a billion. A bit high for a small standing army, but they perform police work (there are also detectives) such as guarding things and... killing murderers.

Can you explain what a point defence laser is? I'm ignorant on these subjects. Oh Archi, instead of writing Dihydrogen, you could simply state deuterium.

[bleep] it I am disregarding the production point system. I am instead going back to my old system of a certain number of ships per five years.

Honestly I am going monetarily based... But I take off almost all of the cost of the mateirials simply because I have close to 1,000 asteroid miners and 4 mining colonies working round the clock. Speaking of which I am now expanding mining operations on said colonies.

Frankly monetary does not work. If we're going that way, then I COULD just say that since I have no money system and my people work for free, then all my ships are free. Going with that line of thought, I have billions of people, so I should be able to build millions of ships. Then we end up with a problem.

So to reiterate, money does not work, because you can just make more of it or disregard it.

Retech there does not have to be a universal system. I use a monetary system because it is simplest for me (capitalism ftw! ). However if you have a society that does not use money then you would have to use a moral or pp based system.

Ok, so what is your ship production rate? PP is necessary in some way because you need at least a PP equivilant for the power of your ships.

For flip sake!

Fine. Here is how it will work or you will not have weapons.

You will tell how powerful your weapons are. Relative to a laser that can shoot though a sheet of steel 1 meter thick.

You will tell me how powerful your armour is. Relative to a sheet of steel 1 meter thick.

Then we shall talk about it and the values will be set.

I am not reopening the thread until everyone(Rocco, Mather, Doom, Retech, Dusty, Sere, Ross, Grim, RPG) has given me estimates.

Well I knew you wouldn't agree. I know how you hate facing facts.

A Federalist president, Winston Evans, was elected by the people. King Albert succumbed to the rare neurological disease and was placed under stasis. A "funeral" was held for him, even though he's not dead. Millions attended his "funeral". King George VII had his coronation ceremony. The duo promise continued reforms (referring to the disastrous militopian games at New London) and also promise to protect our liberties and continue economical prosperity.
