I saw no threads on this so I'm starting one, if there is one already the report button is top right.

+15 range offense +10 magic defense.

I was Reallllllyyyyyy hoping for a magic update, but no, this just weakens magic.

I'm getting really tired of magic being dumped on!

This amulet strengthens mages against rangers.

No...no it does not. +15 Ranged Attack and +10 Magic defense. I don't know if you can count, but son, that to me says that it strengthens rangers against mages. lol.

Most mages don't rely solely on magic, as it's best not to. Because this amulet doesn't give bonuses to other defensive stats, it makes them more vulnerable to melee and ranged attacks. If they, the magicians, do not bring a melee or ranged weapon, they should be losing because they are opposite the triangle. Another +5 ranged attack with lesser defensive stats seems like a major drawback to me.

erm... i dont think that you fully grasp the concept of a combat triangle.

the combat triangle is: meele beats range, range beats mage, mage beats meele.

kind of like rock paper scissors, yes? So, mage shouldent lose out in the combat triangle just because they dont bring another class's weapon to a fight.

(and btw, not trying to flame, just in case you assume that)

What are you talking about. If mages don't bring another way to fight then they should lose to range. They know they're weak to it and they should take their own risks.

By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .

The problem here is that I don't think it's fair that the mages HAVE to bring another combat syle in order to be deadly. Meleers and rangers can easily destroy their opponent with just their respective combat style; they don't need to keep switching. But mages still need to watch their backs because now rangers are even more deadly to them, meleers can still hybrid them, and the only way you're going to get a kill with 100% magic attacks is if you're in a clan or miles away from a safespot/bank/tele spot where your target has nowhere to escape. Mages have always drawn the short stick, and this update throws them in the dust once again.

I'm slightly dissappointed that Jagex didn't make the aquanite's drop more slayer-based. I was hoping to get an item that would actually make range/mage slaying easier, like the equivalent of a slayer helm for the two styles. Right now melee is and seemingly always will be the dominant combat choice for slayers with range as an occasional backup for monsters that are tougher but can be safespotted. Few players actually train slayer with mage simply because it's slow and costly, and I am still awaiting an update that changes that. I'm sure slayer would be a way more popular skill if all combat types had their advantages in it, but right now slayer is all about damage efficiency since it's so slow to train and thus mage is left out almost entirely from the skill (unless you actually take the slayer master's reccomendation of maging demons or metal dragons, but not many players choose that).

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Meh, you get what you get. It's actually pretty good when you consider the level of slayer needed to kill it.

It will definitely be under my category of "welfare", but I still think it's good considering what it comes from. You can't expect something completely epic from such a low level creature. In a few weeks, I bet the price will be substantially reduced.

3a ammy is expensive due to the fact that it is a 3a/tt item. Range amulet is just a drop from a low leveled slayer monster. Besides, the only time I use 3a ammy is in Castlewars. Only when I am barrage defending. In any other situation I would use a fury, or even a glory (teleports > stats =D> )

Well aslong as the drop rate stays the way it is from what iam seeing it might drop but the majority of RS has proved to be [developmentally delayed]ed to it might actually rise but should fall.

I guess, I still believe it is the most overrated ammy ever released. I'd take +15 def stats against everything with a +10 accuracy stats in everything over the range ammy's stats any day. I sense a great crash in them in at most a week.

Ya and do you think it would rise much over 2m?

It's probably going to turn into a welfare item for pures or low levels training range by safe spotting. 90+ Monsters will be where the good items are \'

This is just a guess, but I'd say the ammy will settle ~500K

I'd guess 500, maybe 700kish at most. Those things are ridiculusly easy to kill, full black dhide with whip + bunyip + scrolls, I didn't even need to use my enchanted excal. Only problem is that the spot is so crowded that I'd rather camp at abby demons or just go rc more.

I haven't killed one personally, but they are only 3 levels higher than gargoyles. I would guess that you would be more than set to do a task with a bunyip, considering they drop raw food.

Prices would probably drop and ill probably try and kill them once the hype dies down.
