Rainy_Day
I think Das forgot about it, i think he needs reminding of the "i'll see what i can do" comment : Decisions don't happen in a day you know ;) It's not a matter of Das running out and creating the forum, it's a matter of him bringing it to the other admins for discussion. I think it would be worth going through the Video Games & Consoles forum to see how much FunOrb discussion there is. That would give us an idea of how much interest there is. Because currently, people are more than welcome to use that forum to discuss FunOrb. Why not have a FunOrb forum? If it's going to be so inactive then we wont need mods looking over it so much. If it is active, then we need it. Get it? It's not about moderating, but it's just another whole forum which will (in my eyes) most likely not be put to much use. A single topic is more than enough, and even that is not used too actively. #-o Just means another forum on the index for very few topics, normally a forum is made when there are a lot of topics regarding specific areas, which is not apparent for FunOrb. Danqazmlp
I think the main reason why there arent many FunOrb topics is because they don't currently have a place to go. I don't think many people bother with FunOrb topics when theres nowhere to discuss them. And the few that are made are moved to the Video games forum. This is the right place to move them to at the moment, but its almost guarenteed to kill the topic. For one people looking for FunOrb topic's won't often look there. Secondly i think the Video games forum has little interest in FunOrb updates and threads, the same as they do with the majority of Runescape based threads. Want to be my friend? Post in General Discussion. Moved to Video Games and Consoles. How exactly is it that you think they wont get any recognition when you move them to an unknown forum for half the General Discussion posters? Furthermore, noone in VG&C plays RuneScape or FunOrb as much as people in GD would, so they dont post in it either. Why not just make a subforum in General Discussion or a forum close to the top of the forum-list to see how they work out? If it doesnt work out you can just destroy it, move it lower, or something other. ~Edit button didnt want to work. Sorry if I came off a little annoyed or something in my last posts, I'm fine :P Merge please. I dont need a siggy no moar.
Shelby_Polo
If you ask me Funorb topics don't belong in the VG&C forum; that forum is more of an "every game that isn't made from Jagex" forum (sarcasm). I just think Funorb seriously deserves it's own forum. The reason TIFers don't see many Funorb topics (reason why someone thinks a Funorb forum will be dead) is because most don't know where they could post something about it and decides not to. I know that I have many topics I'd like to discuses with other Orbers but ultimately decided against it. Hopefully Das can ramble up some Admins and they can come to a conclusion; soon. Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here!
SportsGuy
FunOrb is also a set of games, not just one game. Creating one subforum could be a great way to get discussion on some of the games that people like to play without having to worry about placing subjects from titles that people don't like to play. Since Jagex is committed to FunOrb and we've committed a portion of our fan site to the company's other offering, doing so for FunOrb only seems to make sense. Perhaps with the changes coming to these boards, a new section for the dozens of games at FunOrb will make an appearance. doomy
Well, funorb is definately out of place the the Video Games and Consoles forum... So if no forum or subforum is made then theres hardly anywheer to discuss it at all. And funorb topics in Video Games and Consoles is annoying :P I think the main reason why there arent many FunOrb topics is because they don't currently have a place to go Exactly. Bauke
Why not just give it a shot under the "General Discussions" section? Just see if it works out, and if there's no interest, then the forum could be closed again. What we (= on an other big forum) do whenever something might be interesting enough for a forum, is create a "test forum", and just see how it all works out. InkofDeath
I think there's too much thought put into the decision of adding a forum. Take pretty much any forum that has been added in the past two years and there's the same sort of arguments in those topics as in this topic. You have the arguments that it won't be active enough, there's no interest, and then you have the counter-arguments that say there's no activity because there's no place for them, and the 'if you make it, they will come' arguments. Just create the forum, tell people about it, give it a chance and after a month or two, if it hasn't met expectations or isn't worth having, just remove it. The amount of things that could have become something but were shot down for not 'appearing' to have any interest or any place on these boards is probably quite a large chunk of content. I don't get why there has to be a huge block for a simple decision of yes/no, especially when the said topic the forum would be on is well-known, and is actively played by a few thousand users daily. Shelby_Polo
Out of curiosity, how is this going? And if it's not going, can the admins start talking about it? ;) Suggest a poll for Tip.it - Here!
Troacctid
I would absolutely post in a FunOrb forum. There's loads of things to discuss. -Arcanists-Armies of Gielinor-Dungeon Assault-More Arcanists-Future game speculation (Pirate Empires, Bachelor Fridge, mystery games from Diary screenshots)-FunOrb Central stuff-Steel Sentinels-Orb Defence-Kickabout League Plenty of discussion potential for all of those. And that's just off the top of my head. Read my blog | Follow me on Twitter | Track my XP
