Punitive_D Posted August 7, 2009 Share Posted August 7, 2009 I haven't been doing anything with my slayer points (after I bought the helm and so forth). Last night I finished my 200th consecutive assignment and got a lot of points. I had a couple thousand altogether. I bought slayer dart runes and sold them in the GE (over 6M). Then I started wondering whether that was the smartest thing to do. What do you all do with your slayer points? Do you think Jagex slayer point system "works"? Are you incentivized by the points? I find that once I got the helm and all the abilities, the points didn't really do much for me (although the 6M was nice, I guess). Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Getting the helm and the slayer rings were a huge incentive for me to train slayer, and I've never regretted getting either. The slayer rings have been hugely useful: fastest way to get around the desert, period. Fastest way to get to fairy rings, period. Fastest way to get to Canifis, period. Easy access to your house without needing inventory space for runes. And instant completion of Tarn's Lair without setting foot in the long and annoying maze. They've been indispensible. I haven't slayed in exactly 12 months, but I may go back to it. if so, I plan to just buy the runes. I want an automatic Slayerkit, like ice coolers, salts, rock hammer in one that automatically kills crocodiles, gargoyles etc on low hp, I'd blow 500-600 points on that. With that many points, even if I get a streak of say, 5 tasks I don't like, I can cancel them all and focus on the Spiritual Mages, Dark Beasts, and Dagannoth. :P Jack of all trades, master of thieving. 259th to 99 thieving. But I'd like to see upgrades to the equipment like what a Super Fishing Explosive is to the regular, Better arrows/bolts, a better leaf-bladed weapon, a higher level magic dart. Or even buying the armour that the slayer master used when confronting Lucien, that looked pretty cool. I think Movario said somewhere that it was Lucien's influence that caused the staff to spawn such evil magicks, or something to that extent. I wish dart runes were less points if you accualy use em, or mabyee let the slayer staff save you a few runes. Seems like it never pays off your slaying trips. :?
