Some people can run HD but choose not too.

That'd be me <3: I don't mind HD, but SD is better when doing certain activities like hunter for example.

Not to mention mining. My carpal tunnel is bad enough as it is without having to move the mouse more than twice as far to drop the ore.

I've heard a lot of people saying how they can't run HD on their laptops. Personally, I can't run it on my PC (heck, that old thing barely runs RuneScape in SD) while my laptop runs HD just fine. I love running HD when I'm doing stuff that I don't need quick access to my inventory (fishing, woodcutting, GOP'ing, etc...), and I really love it on my girlfriend's computer (ahh, glorious HD with full AA :D).

THE place for all free players to connect, hang out and talk about how awesome it is to be F2P.

So, Kaida is the real version of every fictional science-badass? That explains a lot, actually...

Someone posted some ridiculous HD pictures taken from two linked HD monitors, you could see the entire span of the fight caves lol. So yes there is quite the advantage to be had if your computer is very good, and it still helps if it's just OK.

I can run HD but it lags unless I turn the settings down, and I have to use small screen lol. I still do it unless I'm going sara gwd or tormented demons that require very fast clicking I can't do in HD. :|

But there are also disadvantages. For one thing, your mouse has a much bigger journey when you want to switch weapons, etc.

Only if you play in fullscreen. ;) For pvp and combat minigames I also suggest to use the F-keys so you don't have to move the mouse to the button to switch to prayer/inventory/whatever.

Thats what I do. Less lag, but more importantly everything is closer together, so I don't have to go moving my mouse all the way across the screen all the time.

I don't think it is that much of a disadvantage, the distance your mouse has to go (as someone has said) might even it out. I wouldn't know tho, my laptop has no problem running HD. So that is what I use, it goes without saying, if you have a better computer you're always gonna have a slight over on people that don't. Same goes with the internet connection. Just how it works with games.

"Mouse distance" is completely irrelevant, its really easy to turn up the sensitivity of any mouse or touchpad to compensate for the new game size.

You make it sound like running through a few level 87 monsters is hard which it really shouldn't be at your level.

That's how I am.

I prefer not to lag at GE, and to have things run a bit more smoother, or at least it seems to be smoother to me.

The only real problem I have with HD is I can't read the chatbox half the time, especially for clan chat.

And those few inches don't really matter.

My girlfriend tells me an extra inch makes all the difference.

Firstly, Lmao!

Secondly, I think having HD Mode helps alot when cutting down clicks which why i would use it if it didnt lag me as much. I also prefer to use Standard detail interface but HD screen when doing other things liek when buying something on the G.E, sometiems in HD it would randomly click me off while choosing my item which is rather annoying..

Do you think if someone hooked enough monitors together they could see all of Runescape?

Sure, but then I always end up clicking on the wrong thing for the next month while I begin to get used to the new sensitivity. Even when I set the sensitivity on my mouse one "notch" higher I miss lots of clicks, especially in tasks that I do often.
