Is it just me, or has there been a hell of a lot of natural conflict in the last 12 months? I mean, we had the boxing day tsunamis in Asia last year, killing tens of thousands. We had Hurricane Katrina, killing several thousand, followed by Hurricane Rita, killing even more. There have been fires in L.A. (although I'm not sure if they were naturally caused or the result of arson). We've just had the massive earthquake in Pakistan, killing many, many more. Bird Flu has the potential to become globally fatal, and the San Andreas fault is expecting a violent earthquake sometime soon.

Or it could be 'global warming' because of all the CO2 we are pumping into the atmosphere all the time. Perhaps if America signed the Kyoto agreement like every other country in the world we could reduce emmitions and stop the greenhouse effect.

It seems as if the effects of global warming will continue to intensify until the world takes notice of what's happening and does more to help reduce CO2 emissions.

We use up natures resources, most of us don't think to preserve it, but little do they know the world isn't going to be here forever, and if it does it will surely not be the paradise they hoped for.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And I'll say through out all the trials and tribulations every living thing has faced in the past has been good compared to what it might be in the future. But hey, that's just my opinion about this topic :wink:

Heh, try the last 7 or so years for Australia :\ We've been in 'drough' mode for a long time. And almost most of the country has been on water restrictions for almost 3 years, maybe a bit more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It's pretty much gotten to the stage where we'd welcome ANY rain. Even if it is because of a cycole / tropical storm / etc :x And fires, yeah.. we get them a lot aswell. And in our current conditions, if it doesn't rain over summer (which it better do) it's going to be extreme fire danger all year again :\ This place is basically a tinder box in a lot of places :-?

There is this massive dry-stuff (don't know the word) in the Amzone rain forests now too. Which is because of the rough huricane season. I saw something about it on the news last night, pretty shocking images... :?

Yeah, and some people believe that the earth goes through cycles of bad hurricanes etc. It might all be a big coincidence, or it might not, there are so many different schools of thought it's unbelievable, it's just the media likes to pump out the global warming one all the time, because they seem to be able to blame polititicians for it, but i think there's more to it.

yeah, the amount of disasters happening right now isnt even anymore than any other time, during a period a while ago there were a lot more. the media pumps out the global warming crap so that they can blame it on bush, because right now its popular to blame everything on him.
