October 12, 200520 yr Well, this is my senior year and I dont really care about what classes i'm taking, so I decided to take Spanish 1 for an easy A. I just got my progress report, and with no missing assignments or tests, i have an A- in spanish 1  *for those who dont know, I have been a fluent speaker in spanish as long as I have English* My problem is, I've always spoke it, but I've never wrote it before. I was using english letters to make spanish sounds for instance: Me llamo Cory means: I am Cory But since I've never written any of this down, it's all been oraly, i would spell Me yamo Cory Just stuff like that, but this can probably go on the top 5 of most embarrasing moments of my life... - Only character in Runescape History maxed out in RSC and RS2
October 12, 200520 yr Well incase you didnt know, spanish is written following exact rules. that 'y' in llamo is always 'll'. For that reason the would read balloon as ba'y'oon. If you find out and learn the spanish alphabet, you'll never fail, they don't have excpetions like the english language does very much.
October 12, 200520 yr i remember a certain archeologist that could read a language quite well but since it had been dead some 3000 years it took him a bit to understand it his name was daniel.. a geek.. he also has this weird habit of dieing and coming back... not sure why or how :) but honestly you can speak a language without knowing how its written only becuase you did nto grow up writing it :) The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! Finally, I get to save the Earth with deadly lasers instead of deadly slide shows!
October 12, 200520 yr You're ashamed because you can speak a language but you can't write it down because you never did it? Yea, that makes a lot of sense. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
October 12, 200520 yr Doing better than me. I can only read half a dozen languages roughly. And 3 of them I could read and write in fluently. So whatever.

October 12, 200520 yr Really, tell me...What are the other 4 embarassing moments? It can't be much if this is in it. Quit attention seeking. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
October 12, 200520 yr Oh noes!!!1!  Seriously... on one end of the earth people with serious injuries have to recieve surgical treatment with only a flap of plastic to shield them from the rain because the earthquake that levelled their homes also brought down every hospital in a fifty mile radius, and on the other end of the earth entire villages are buried under the mud, mud so thick that people don't even bother digging out the bodies. In the past week, tens of thousands died to some of the worst natural disasters in world history. October 12, 200520 yr I can speak, read and write English fluently I can speak, read and write both French and German to a very basic level. I can speak and read a basic level of Dutch and Spanish We British are rubbish. I was not even taught German until i was 13. Pitiful... Languages should be taught from primary school age alongside English. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. October 12, 200520 yr I have had a french kid in my french classes for 3 years, he speaks fluent english and french (he lived in france and his parents talk french). I think he got Bs in the classes, and he dropped this year cause i think he was failing. I won't lie the kid is kinda of a slacker. But i think he has the same problem u do, he thinks that he can just fly through french classes. Visit my DeviantArt Page at http://vladmoney.deviantart.com

Languages should be taught from primary school age alongside English. We don't need to learn other languages because a huge number of countrys speak it as their second language if not first. It is the widest used language in the world. Personally i can speak basic german, french, spanish (tiny bit). I've been to a tone of diffrent countrys. And not once have i had a huge problem with language because they understood me. Why waste are time learning a language it would only cut back on are more important studys in my book. Oh and btw dude an A- isn't bad. Relax.
October 12, 200520 yr I believe Mandarin is the most used language in the world ;) I can't remember exactly but I know that it isn't English.
October 13, 200520 yr I have a few things to say 1) Necromagus: Wtf is your problem. Is it okay if some people have standards in life and try to strive for something instead of pointing out worse things in life? Its like saying I love puppies! Then someone shouting: PEOPLE ARE KILLING EACH OTHER IN CHINA HOW CAN YOU THINK ABOUT PUPPIES WHILE PEOPLE ARE DIEING!?!?!?!?!?!?!? Dude, lay off. 2) We Americans are pig headed ingnorant overweight slobs that are poor excuses for human beings, Ill admit it. Less than half americans probably know 2 languages. there i stated the obvious  3) Lol @ Senior in spanish 1 :P :P Everybody lovin' it, but ain't no body touchin' it

October 13, 200520 yr I believe Mandarin is the most used language in the world Wink I can't remember exactly but I know that it isn't English. Never heard of mandarin personally..ah well we do however come pretty dam close - How many people speak English worldwide? English is one of the most widely used languages in the world. Recent estimates suggest that over 375 million people speak English as their first language, with around another 375 million speaking it as a second language. The United States has the largest number of English speakers - over 226 million speak the language as a mother tongue. English is an favoured language of the world's major airlines and international commerce. Over 80 per cent of the world's electronically stored information is in English and two-thirds of the world's scientists read in English. Of the estimated 40 million users of the Internet, some 80 per cent currently communicate in English. English is an official language, or has a special status in over 75 of the world̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s territories. If the rest of the world isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t talking English, they̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re borrowing English words to add to their own language: the Japanese go on a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâpikunikku̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ (picnic), Italians program their computers with ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâil software̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢, Germans talk about ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâein Image Problem̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ and Czechs say ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâahoy!̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ for ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâhello̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ - a greeting traditionally used by English sailors, which is interesting as the Czech Republic has no coast! http://www.i-uk.com/servlet/Front?pagen ... 9976720577 :P Sorry for the offtopicness i felt it was some what relevent. :P
October 13, 200520 yr I am English, so obviously fluent in that. I can speak read and write in French to GCSE level, (i'm taking it a year early in June), and i dropped German for GCSE. I can also read and write in ancient Greek, however since i've only been doing it for some 4 weeks, my vocab is limited, and i'm limited to fairly basic sentances. However with a vocab list i'm more flexible. I was taught French from year 3 in my primary school. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"
