Maximusa
With all that work why they not talk about making the new runescape have private servers to hire too. I dont personally care but I sure alot people would hire a server to have these cheat codes on the latest game. I think that solves the server problem better than people playing in classic. Ezz
Sounds great. I wonder how many servers there will be and how much they'll cost to "rent" though. [insert birds flying in a circle here]Yes, that sig was annoying.

Obtaurian
I was around for RSC, and I much prefer modern day Runescape. I'll only play if I can play for free. To put it bluntly, [bleep] off.

Emmentail
I logged onto Classic the other day, to make sure I can still access it and I was just amazed at how out-dated the thing is. That said I still want to complete my goal of finally doing the Legends Quest, unfortunately I can't remember where i'm up to in it, nor do I have decent armour or even a good weapon for it. These new servers will be popular for about a month then die off when people realise that nostalgia isn't all it's cracked up to be..

wab
well when it cost to rent a server to play, that might create huge problem. for the first days alot will buy out of curios, and all will enjoy it in first few weeks. like every "nice to have" thing it'll turn into a ghost town, as there will be less and less payers, and after couple of good hours the averge player will say "okay i had enought of this old version, time to go back to runtek5" i'm suggesting jagex to give it to members only, yes it might make some f2p'ers angry, but after all we pay, so they can use it for paying the servers - even if it means to raise our currect payment. or maybe even let us chose if to pay abit more monthly to be able to play "modern classic". that's the only way, all the work into reviving it won't make it useless few weeks after release. about else that isn't connected to payment: simply awsome, sounds too good to be true :o

Myweponsg00d
I hope they realize how many thousands of people are going to be playing nothing but classic now, PKing and Mage-staking. Wachtwoord
I fear for many players nostalgia will only be fun as a memory. I guess a lot of topics like "new servers are OK, but don't have the real RSC feeling" will show up after it's been released. If you look at (our) current RSC forums, a lot posts are in the lines of "RSC was great because everyone knew each other", or "RSC was great because of the community". Those things won't come back with these new servers. Another problem is people tend to let their memories be more positive then reality and very few people like to be confronted with that. Because of this, I predict this will turn out into a big let down for a lot of older players. When everything's been said and done, more has been said than done. All skills 80+

There is no reason at all to limit it. People who want a server, should be able to get one. If you're afraid that there will be too many servers... then the problem will solve itself. Once the initial rush is over, a few good servers will remain, and people will play those. Limiting it to P2P doesn't do anything but annoy people. wab
I hope they realize how many thousands of people are going to be playing nothing but classic now, PKing and Mage-staking. you've got a good point here - except classic nostalgic which will fade quickly, "old wildy" and staking is it's only chance to survive for long :| i know i'm going to rush directly to edge wildy with full rune and start the free-old-school-pking  wait...somebody know what best weapons got released at last version before RS2 back then? theres any dragon weapons? dragonstone gems? defenders? Cheezy_Power
I'm just glade that they're still keep the two current private runescape servers. I don't use my account there, but I'd hate for some people who've been playing it for years to suddenly get ruined by cheats, having their amulets of accuracy suddenly being added to the game again. Let's not forget the trolls who just logged in to flame others who play and enjoy it. High-alching that REALLY expensive item in my inventory looks more and more tempting with every beer I drink.
