I see you ment it slightly different than I thought, but my point still stands: whenever these "ghost towns" arise, servers will shut down (it's no fun paying for a server that isn't used), and only the good ones remain, which people will play.

 

 

 

and my point still stands. 90% of servers will go down, maybe a few for staking&pvping. nobody will stay cause it's calssic...people will prefer to be back to runetek5 faster than you think...so i don't think the hassle jagex going to put in this huge project really worth it.

 

 

 

I'm just going to assume you have never played Classic before. Honestly I don't think it's fair for you to make assumptions about what people will do when RSC comes out, because you never played the true game and don't understand how epic it is. Chances are, many people will go to a separate server and never go back to RS2.

 

 

 

You have to take into account the amount each server will cost. It's not cheap to run a server. If you search around for Runescape Private Servers currently, it takes quite a big buck to operate each server a month. I'm going to guess Jagex will, at the lowest possible cost, charge a 50 dollar fee per month, but most likely even more upwards to 100 or 150. With a price like that, there won't be room for 90% of the servers to go down. With a price like that 90% that should of gone down, simply don't even pay.

When RS2 came out I left RSC with stats in the 70s, but now when I go back and play, all of my stats are lvl 1! I wonder if it will stay like that (until I train them) or if Jagex could bring back my old stats; I doubt it though.

KBD was the only bossmonster ingame.

 

The dragon items I just mentioned are the only ones available, and it are the best itesm for melee combat in the game.

 

Hint: do not get a rune scimmy on rsc! get a baxe or 2H instead, because the speed is the same for all weapons ;)

yep, i never played RSC, but how awsome it might be, i know facts for sure. when jagex gave chance to stay with the so awsome classic or the new RS2, most people took RS2. theres correctly no way most will get off from runetek5 to classic (if it would, jagex would fear their classic to kill their main income, so they would never do such a thing).

 

 

 

I assume you did played RSC. good for you, you have good memories and good knowledge about this game. and soon alot others will can play it too. but do you really think (except pvp&staking) people will stay for horrible graphic, and way less than 50% of content? people will be bored when month+ will be passed, and then it depends how jagex do it exactly. or they'll be few more steady servers running good, or classic will be closed at the 2nd time. only future will tell.

Well, people will play it for PKing, it's a whole different game as far as PKing goes, and many who played it prefer the RSC PK system over the new one. It will fade out off course, but I do think there are enough people to keep at least a couple servers running.

Wouldn't virtualisation downplay the costs? I'm assuming they are going to take "space" from existing empty-ish servers, and address it to the people that rent an RSC server. I do expect a player limit for servers thou, and a price change to increase said limit.

Kbd was epic though, If theres cheat servers or I host my own for cheap i'm kbd slaying for sure only 2 dragon weapons dragon long and dragon battle, on their release they looked the same as bronze so they changed appearence.

 

 

 

People used to scam by putting up dragon battle and long and say which one? then take them off and put up the bronze one so I was *almost* a victim to that.

 

 

 

I won 200 Shark certs at a costume party gave 100 to my friend and we were at kbd alot we never got a med or left half though :(

I think there should be an option to pay solely for RSC, just like there is for funorb, though this won't effect me much: I doubt I'll use it whether it's free for me as an already paying member or not. :oops:
