I'm just back from a years break and I was wondering what would be a good monster to kill for level 3 clues?

Thanks :)

With 76 slayer I would keep on slaying.

For fast clues hellhounds are the best but there lack of secondary drops sucks, so I would personally go with spectors.

[hide=Drops]

  • Dragon Axe x11
    Berserker Ring x9
    Warrior Ring x8
    Seercull
    Dragon Med
Dragon Boots x4 - all less then 30 kc
    Godsword Shard (bandos)
    Granite Maul x 3

Solo only - doesn't include barrows[/hide][hide=Stats]

Greater demons also seem to drp them fairly often. But as said above, slayer is a great way to get them.

And if you don't want to go through the clue-less tasks on slayer, Gargoyles are profitable and drop clues farily often. Turoths are one of the best clue droppers out there. Spectres are very profitable and drop clues often as well.

When you go feather dragon god, you never go back.

yeah slayer is the best way for everything.

[bleep] off you jackass [bleep]ers and give real [bleep]ing advice for [bleep] sake.

No offence.

Actually, they have given the best advice. Its a bit rich calling people jackasses, if you don't know or can't be bothered to give an answer don't bother replying.

At that Slayer level the vast majority of the tasks given by Sumona & Lapalok are very good lvl 3 clue droppers.

There is no point camping at Hellhounds or Greaters just to try & get a clue - the time would be better spent hunting for lvl 3 clues whilst on tasks, maximising XP. In the long run getting the Slayer XP will be more beneficial, particularly if you've got the XP whilst doing something you wanted ie. Clue Hunting.

No-one is saying you have to complete the task before doing the clue, I've had 3 clues from a Aberrant Spectre task before.

Jellies. A low leveled, easy to kill monster. They drop a healthy amount of green charms and alchables as well.

If you don't get a good clue, they also drop rune full helms, which will help balance out an 87k clue quite nicely in the long run.

They're the only thing I choose to kill when hunting for cluescrolls. :)

What? Do I have to actually tone it down?

The words are censored...

Slayer isnt the best thing for everything and it certainly isnt the best thing for nothing.

If you want level 3s and some money on the side then do slayer.

IF you only want level 3s, Jellies are good like some people have mentioned.

But unless you want to get a pic of a good C3 scroll, then there's no need to actually farm for them.

I dont need a siggy no moar.

I used to hunt for clues when I was a lower level. I would range hell hounds in the Family Crest dungeon and collect the level 3 clues. Here is a link to the map of the dungeon if your interested and haven't been there. Family Crest Dungeon

Another good option is to kill Jellies like Lady Ninane said.

Best of luck.
