I read this and see some people fail to grasp it, he's not talking about someone with 200 Hp and 300 Str, he doesn't want to remove caps, just extend them. He said he thinks that 120 is a good enough extended skill level.

120 means nooby now to be quiet honest, and yes 120 is sufficent for now its about 103 million exp to get a stat to 120

Anyone who complains about people becoming too powerfull is an idiot. With the xp differences getting greater and greater per level, anyone who has more than level 100 in melee stats damn well deserves to be overpowered. That is a lot of time spent towards the game and should be rewarded likewise.

I hear some people saying that they'd have to delete everyone's stats to go to a 3 digit system... No they don't.

Even though it is a possibility that they would lose the data in that database, all they'd have to do is back it up, switch the level cap, and then macro to copy the data back into the database. Bringing down RuneScape for a few hours max.

Besides, I've never seen any proof of a Jagex employee saying anything like that.

How do they work out how much exp for the next lvl. It must be a formula.

From lvl 50 and on, the formula is:

new level xp = old level xp x 1,1.

It's not 100% correct, it's probably something like 1,09 or 1,11.

I dont really see a point, other than having more levels.. People will train up to it anyway so in the long run you have more people with higher hitpoints but also more people who can hit harder as well...theres no difference in it. Someone has 99 hp, whips are the most commonly used weapon and the max is 37... ok we up the hitpoints to 120 and the str att and def to 120... the max hit goes up averaging it all out anyway.

i personally like the idea.. it would make things very very interesting in the wildy if they were to do this lol.. i never really understood why they cut it off at 99 anyway..

id like to see something like this post says

but limits are set for a reason

people want something to shoot for, if there is no ultimate goal it becomes white noise and boring.

well why 99? why not lvl 100 or lvl 120?

well there would still be a lvl cap just higher than 99 so players still have something to aim for and it wouldn't be boring... there are people that are 99 99 99 and still do nothin but melee training.. I would like it if they raised the lvl cap from 99 to something a lil higher for the PVP skills.. I personally really enjoy ranging if they were to raise the lvl cap on Str atk def hp range and mage ... awww man this game would be very very interesting then.. the wildy would never be the same.. same with staking... it would greatly change those two aspects of the game.. i would really like to see it happen although i doubt it will cause then people would complain that others are way stronger than them and its unfair.. every update like this there are whiners and the people with huge smiles on their faces.. but jagex listens more to the whiners...

i don't know i'll shut it for now

I think this would be the best thing to do...now zezy does have 99 all stats and when carpentry he will get 99 in that too.

I hope jagex do raise the cap. It wouldn't make any difference to me because i don't have any stat at 99 anyway.

It would be very very interesting if jagex did this.

sjonno that was the stupidest thing i've ever heard, do you know exactly how long that would take? 900 hp would take litterally hundreds of years

i bet yuffie, zezima etc. would be prepared to play for 100 years.

not sure if anyone said this, but that thing about them not being able to raise it above 99 because of a two digit system WAS said by someone in jagex at some point..not just some jealous noobs. and no, i'm not a jealous noob myself :P

but it does make sense that they've been able to have stats above 99 for quite awhile, what with all the monsters above 126 combat.. so all i have to say is doh.

Definately something I would support, since it would actually give a reason to specialise (tho not be pure). Ppl moan "range is to easy to train" - well I'd happily trundel allong and get maybe 110 range.

Besides, I know what you mean, I only have 1 99 skill, range, but when I got it I kinda thought "smeg, what now".

And for those that say it is to much, rs is easier these days to train and there are more people playing. People would get those lvls.

Raise lvl cap to 120 :D

Also, steal an idea from ffxi - when you ge to a certain lvl in a skill you have to do a quest of some sort to unlock the next few lvls and so on. That would be cool.

I wouldn't have so much an issue of having combat skills going to 120, it is just why stop at just combat skills?

There is a handful of other stats, and not everyone just trains combat. Why not make say woodcutting, firemaking and fletching go to 120 and leave the rest? I could just see a huge headache for Jagex after they just make combat skills go that high. People would want cooking up there to provide food for the combat. Runecrafters would want their level increased so they could better provide runes. Fletchers to provide better arrows and bows. Herblorists to provide the potions. Then once those are raised then of course their complementary skills would have to go up too. Others would complain that it is not fair that person X has level 120 attack level, while they have more xp in fletching but are only level 99.

I dunno, It just seems that they should throw all the skills up that high but don't necessarily have new things they can do at that high a level. Most of the Skills already don't have any new things you can do in the high levels anyways.

Also what would happen to the high level NPCs? There is high level monsters that drop expensive items now because there is some difficulty killing them. With the Kalphite Queen for example, a new maxed out with all 120s, could easily solo her over and over, numerous times a trip. While if you increase her level to compensate for this then the people that were fighting her before without raising their combat stats would find killing her a lot more difficult then before.

Fix these problems and i'd be all for the increase.
